Take on Sherlock Holmes’ Cases in Baker Street RPG
January 7, 2015 by dracs
Baker Street, the RPG based in the world of Arthur Conan Doyle's iconic detective Sherlock Holmes, enjoyed a successful time on Kickstarter and now has been released for you to solve the mystery.
This game, published by Fearlight Games, takes place during the time when Sherlock Holmes is presumed dead after taking a trip to Reichenbach. Players take on the role of investigators tasked by Dr Watson to take on some of the cases that are building up in Holmes' absence.
The game boasts 30 careers to choose from, as well as 25 criminal extras and rules to create your very own Moriarties to deal with, helping you to recreate the experience of solving formidable crimes with your incredible deductive skills.
The Sherlock Holmes books, as a setting, are a rich source for role playing and I am surprised it has taken this long to receive a dedicated rule set. I will be very interested to hear what people's experiences are like with this.
Do you think you'll take on this case? Will you be picking it up on DriveThruRPG?
Thanks to ghent99 for giving us the heads up about this release.

Hmm… I would very much like to know more. Apart from the recent BBC ‘Sherlock’ series I’ve never read or seen other versions and don’t know much about them. Nor have I ever felt particularly desperate to read the originals.
But this looks very interesting, and as a historian I quite like the idea of using the game as a way to learn about the setting.
I don’t really have time to play RPGs these days, but would be interested to find out more about this game.
Hey there Despot, if that is what you go by :),
Check out the KS and you can ask Bryce the creator as he is the one that takes care of the questions directly for FearLight. I am actually local to him and the game play runs pretty smoothly. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fearlightgames/baker-street-roleplaying-in-the-world-of-sherlock/description
Heh, thanks, I’ll have a look!
