Shadowy Wraiths Swoop Into The World Of RuneWars By FFG
August 29, 2017 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games have added in another release for the world of RuneWars. This time the armies of the dead are summoning forth deadly Wraiths from the other side.
Their power lies in their ability to phase and swoop through terrain and other units, allowing them to get into better positions from which to strike. They are able to reposition as well making them a deadly enemy to face against scared enemy forces.
The set comes with four of these Wraiths which can be added in, rather inexpensively, to your army of the dead. Some of their upgrades allow them to relentlessly pursue and hunt down their enemies, tormenting them as they try and flee from these ghostly apparitions.
I think when it came to painting these you'd get away with plenty of washes and shading. A simple choice of two colours, potentially quite bright, would keep them looking nice and ghostly.
What do you think of this new unit?

The artwork in RuneWars is so far let down by the quality of the sculpts. The first illustration has so much flow and energy, while the sculpts seem so much flatter and dated looking. It’s a shame, as they look like a great entry to tabletop war gaming in so many ways. But when I look at how GW sculpts cloth, robes, parchments, smoke, ghostly vapours etc, it’s a world apart.
Ooh they look fabulous.
Those are very nice.
