Shadespire Warbands Soon To Be Available
May 24, 2018 by brennon
Games Workshop has announced that their range of Shadespire Warbands are going to be available this weekend without their additional cards and whatnot, allowing you to just use them as is for alternative paint schemes OR just for those who want to use them in Age Of Sigmar.
All of the original warbands from the core game and beyond are going to be made available, each with their coloured plastics (of course) and the scenic bases which really make them stand out as unit leaders and such in your games if you wish to use them that way.
Each of the warbands already has a Warscroll which allows you to use them in your standard games of Age Of Sigmar. But, of course, there is nothing stopping you going beyond this and using them for conversion purposes and such as well.
It's nice that Games Workshop has gone the extra mile and released these as their own unit sets. It means that you don't have to buy them again with all the accessories and throw most of it away. I like what some people have been suggesting, using them to paint alternative versions of your warbands, or versions where they have levelled up with experience!
The small things matter with games and miniature ranges, and with a collection as extensive as the one Games Workshop has it's good to have alternative methods of buying your models.
Now you just need to decide which one of the warbands you're going to pick up. If you're not even remotely interested in Shadespire this does also offer you a chance to just get the models because you like painting!
Two of the newest warbands, those for the Farstriders and Magore's Fiends have been catching my eye and dragging me slowly back towards the idea of playing games of Age Of Sigmar.
Maybe if Games Workshop were to bring out a Sylvaneth warband I might be encouraged to pick it up and paint up some more models from their range!
So, what do you think? Have you been playing Shadespire or Age Of Sigmar and fancy using these models in your collection?

All other warbands than Sigmarine ones are rather good.
great looking models but when did the skaven become molerats?
It’s the radiation in the warpstone …. I’m afraid it was inevitable. 😀
I like the models (except for Sigmarines) but the game’s not my cup if tea. I can see myself getting some of these if the price is right.
Not bad looking figures, but I have to admit I think they did the Skaven dirty. They look more cartoony than they do menacing.
Well I’ll be picking up a few of these to round out slots in the collection. It is a good idea.
Yawn. Not that great, and really not useable in other games anyway. Seems anything I want from GW is now only on EBay i.e. Bretonnian or Empire knights, high elves, etc.
OK I guess this is good.
Just saw the pre-orders, only €2.50 between the easy to build and the shadespire box. Not certain why I would ever get the easy to build version. I could always get drawn into shadespire at a later time, or sell the cards on ebay.
Do like the minis a lot.
