Serve the Dark Gods With Hasslefree’s Beautiful Blanche
November 5, 2014 by dracs
Hasslefree Miniatures have released one of the most alluring worshipers the Dark Gods have ever had, the beautiful Blanche.
Described by Hasslefree as a bewitching warrior woman with power over men, Blanche's most notable characteristics are her hair and smooth facial features, suggestive of a mask and wig. Who knows what true horrors these hide.
One thing is for sure, she is definitely blessed by the Dark Gods. How else would she be able to stand up in those shoes? While the mass of hair does make her seem delightfully retro-fantasy in style, she nonetheless appears to be a somewhat flimsy and almost two dimensional sculpt. But then, maybe that is the intention given that she is supposed to appear unearthly.
Will you seek this servant of the Dark Gods from Hasslefree?
This looks rather good.
I approve of the big hair. It’s a great way to hide the horns!
What’s up with her feet? Or are those hooves? Also, seems Hasslefree is only capable of sculpting 80’s hair.
“Amazonia Gothique” – the painting by John Blanche, used on issue 79 of White Dwarf*. If you were to say this mini was “inspired” by it you wouldn’t be wrong. Still, a nice looking mini – good painting potential!
* Proof that Google is good for something!
Are those… plate armoured ballet shoes? She must be blessed by the Dark Gods in order to avoid having her ankles snap like glass if she fights like that, especially in armour.
Blanche is her name? No wonder she reminds me of old stuff from GW (Mad Donna and Jane Zarr both come to mind).
