Scrawl Out An Adventure On Deep-Cut Studio’s New Mat Design
June 20, 2018 by brennon
Deep-Cut Studio has added a new mat to their webstore for those who like getting stuck into role-playing adventures. Their new RPG Parchment Mat comes with a gridded surface, perfect for those looking to scrawl out a dungeon or tavern setting for your characters to walk through.
Scrawl on your mat you say? Well, thankfully the mat is compatible with water-based pens and markers meaning that you can write on this, mark out a dungeon layout, and then start all over again on a new landscape when you've moved on.
Whilst I like having the likes of Dwarven Forge and such around with their amazing 3D terrain, there is something nice about an old-school hand-drawn map with the little marks to show cave walls, difficult terrain and more.
So, whilst it might not look like much this mat could be a good start for someone beginning their adventures in Dungeons & Dragons. I think I'd like one of these for my own campaigns as it would give me a much better space to work with than a regular whiteboard.
Will you be snapping this up?

Ooh this has multiple of uses from DND to hulk to have fun on.
I think this will depend on price. Pathfinder do a version of this and have done for years. Quality and over-all price will decide this one for me. Looks good though and nice to see DCS moving into this sort of mat.
They make great stuff. With their shipping to the USA was more reasonable.
