The Scots Band Together With New General For Pike & Shotte

It looks like there is going to be a new set of Pike & Shotte releases coming your way soon from Warlord Games as this preview of the Scots Covenanter General who will be riding into battle soon.
The Covenanters were a group of Presbyterians from around the 17th Century who played an important role in the development of Scotland during the period. It will be fun to find out more about the faction in particular through further release (I hope) and if you're interested in their history they do have an entry on Wikipedia you can check out here.
The Pike & Shotte era is a pretty fascinating one and it delves into the masses of conflicts we had here in Britain over the years that I'm interested in seeing played out.

The horse is very strange. There are better figures out there
A Merry Go Round horse is probably the wrong source material to give a sculptor to work from.
I had the exact same thought
The sculpt looks okay to me, but the painting on the face, esp. the eyes, is kind of wonky. It would probably look better with a different paint job.
The horse looks like it was designed from the old Rohan cavalry from Games Workshop lord of the rings range.

I bought a Covenanter army when Warlord had a promo on for the queen’s diamond jubilee the other year. It took me a while, but I even got it built and painted.
I have played a few games of Pikeman’s Lamentvwith them, which was fun, but then I kind of forgot about them.
Maybe time to expand on the theme if there are some new releases in the offing.
However, as others have said, not with that horse…

One for me please! I’ll certainly be snapping up at least one. Despite the ‘Covenant’ tag I think this chap will fit in nicely to my Scots Royalist forces, perhaps leading a war band of his dismounted clan followers. The quilted saddle cloth is a nice touch. I wonder if it will be in ‘wonder resin’ or metal?
