Scibor Work On Making A Good Knight
March 31, 2016 by dracs
Scibor Monstrous are taking a chivalrous turn as they work on their next model, an armoured knight riding a horse with curtains round it.
Yeah, I know they aren't curtains, but I can't remember the name for them and I have read too much Pratchett to think of them as anything else.
The sculpt itself is very promising. I love to see knights that look like they have come straight out of a King Arthur story, and while the knight himself looks rather more grizzled than is usual in those, that just serves to add to the character.
From the look of it, this model will be a standard bearer which has me especially excited. One thing Scibor are good at is making well detailed, dramatic models, so I'm looking forward to seeing the banner they come up with.
What games would you use Scibor's knight in?

Nice.
Given GW just scrapped their entire bretonian knight range, strikes me as a clever business move by scibor.
The GW green knight was such a lovely model, this one looks like he’d be a decent stand in when finished, needs more detail on the curtains for that though.(the horse itself looks better sculpted to be honest)
Curtains = caparison. I like one with not much detail, so I can freehand my own designs and heraldry on it. Beautiful model. Note: he doesn’t have a dwarf build, so many other ‘humans’ on this site do. Very refreshing!
A great grizzled veteran for a unit of questing knights. Looks compatible with GW, Gamezone and Degra miniatures to form an interesting command unit. Scibor continue to impress me with their sculpts as I move further away from the nightmare of AoS. The death of the GW Bretonians again reflects the lack of interest in GW realising there are stakeholders in the industry that go beyond the share holders. I am pleased to see the amount of talent producing great ‘Oldhammer’ style miniatures in the market place today and using Kickstarter campaigns to produce high quality miniatures for collectors, modellers… Read more »
looks great.
Looks great! I’m still sad I’m never gonna finish my Bret army now. Painted a unit, and the rest half painted in a box. Lost a bit of momentum when GW scrapped the whole thing.
