SAGA: Age Of Magic is releasing officially on 22nd April 2019 but you'll be able to get advanced copies of the book at Salute this year from Studio Tomahawk and of course Gripping Beast.
Here are just a few images shared by Studio Tomahawk of their test games showing off a clash between Beastmen and Dwarves.

If you're looking to get your hands on a copy of the book at Salute then you MUST use Gripping Beast and pre-order one for pick up at the event. There is set to be quite the rush on these so if you want to snap it up for yourself you'll need to keep an eye on their webstore.
Included within the book you'll find...
- 6 archetypal factions from the worlds of fantasy so you can use your collections of fantasy figures to play SAGA.
- Legendary units and warbands for each faction to let you personalise your units.
- New rules and equipment to represent these worlds' most iconic units.
- Complete rules for Magic.
- A Grimoire of more than thirty spells divided into six Domains of Magic.
- An impressive photo gallery of armies and battle scenes to inspire players in building their own warbands.
So, the real question is which Fantasy army are you going to be using when Age Of Magic drops?

order placed!
Just started with SAGA for its concentrated potential of historical gameplay ( being skirmish based gives painting projects more leeway ). Having a tingling sense of “warhammer fantasy” looking at this…the warpstone next to me is shining…
So @lloyd should I be picking one of these up at Salute
He’ll need to make sure he puts in a pick up at Salute order then and gets one of us to go and grab it for him 😉
Yes and a Crusades book 🙂
Crusades book out a Salute, excellent
“Unfortunately, the Age of Crusades and Aetius & Arthur are out of stock right now and won’t be available at Salute.” – Gripping Beast
so dusting off the Confrontation minis for this and Warlords of Erewhon
Westfaila and Reaper and Whamster all on standby also.
I have been looking at Saga for a long time as a jumping point into Western and Middle Eastern historical gaming. The addition of Fantasy to the rule set was the tipping point and I ordered the rules, Book of Battle and Age of Magic. I am thinking of moving away from the pricey Age of Sigmar thanks to a ruleset that now allows me to indulge into both historical and fantasy. Thank you Studio Tomahawk and Gripping Beast 🙂
I’ll probably grab this when it’s out for standard orders. But I’m cringing a little about mixing fantasy into our Saga. I really like it being historical only in flavor.
The monsters look brilliant hoping for good things with the other factions.
Well this is interesting. Those monsters do look really good.
Order done.Threw the dice in as well.
Picked up Saga at last years Salute. Not going this year so might have to pick this up when it is released through normal channels. I think adding the fantasy element will get people involved in the game and may persuade some to try the historical route too.
I watched the video earlier today. Can anyone identify the miniatures used? Or are these going to be new releases by Studio Tomahawk or Gripping Beast?
The four armed giant Minotaur looks familiar.
The giant is from GW,one of the big beasties that WFB Beastmen got before the end.I think i saw Scibor Dwarves on Warbears as well,so the Lords of the Underearth can have some nice looking cavalry. And that’s beside what Studio Tomahawk release.I’ve got a box of Warlords of Erehwon Skellies plus Necromancer / Warlord coming soon to make a start into the Age of Magic.
Another setting where my Beasties look awesome, and hopefully more effective than they ever did in WHF.
Was going to until I saw the price, £64 for a rulebook and dice, £74 to by the base rulebook if you don’t already have it. Would have been nice to have a pre-order discount bundle or something.
I don’t you think you need everything to start. So the rulebook, age of fantasy and dice would be £52
I’m definitely in on this one. Can’t wait 🙂
And me with a truck load of ogres on the way from that Atlantis Kickstarter. Good timing ??
Great news! I just came home from a game of Darklands where I spent most of the time trying to interperate the rules. Definitley picking this up so I can use the darklands and old warhammer fantasy modeles in an updated ruleset. Long live Bretonnia! (Also SAGA is awesome)
It is,it really is and i’m ashamed of myself for not playing it more.
I really wish this was easier to get here in the states.
