New Rubicon Tanks, Half-Tracks & Assault Guns From Plastic Soldier!
March 26, 2015 by brennon
The Plastic Soldier Company have some new 28mm scale Rubicon Models miniatures for you to pick up over on their webstore. Kicking things off for the Germans they have the Stug III Ausf G, SdKfz 251/D Halftrack, SdKfz 251/D Halftrack, and SdKfz 251/D Stuka am Fuss. The Russians aren't to be outdone either...
Of course the StuG is a great piece of armour that was perfect for taking down enemy vehicles in the field but the Half-Tracks that you can see above could do a multitude of different things. As well as transporting troops forward they could offer them covering fire AND if the Stuka was employed on the field then you'll have rockets coming raining down on your foes too.
Russian Might
The Germans aren't the only army getting some armour for the battlefield from Rubicon as they have got a T34/85 kit allowing you build either of these tanks for your plucky Soviet forces...
While it looks like the tank has been hit in this image above (which wouldn't be a great selling point for the tank!) it has probably just blown something to smithereens alongside a few other tanks of its kind. I love these tanks and we've got to hope that Warren puts a few of them into both his Bolt Action army and his Tank War one.
What do you think of the offerings?

I have no use for 28mm WW2 kits, but they are fantastic. Might be time for a few games of ‘Secrets of the Third Reich’! Then any excuse for a few new models. Keep doing this on thursday – pocket money day.
Mmmmm, @warzan could convert some stuG tanks for orks 😉
Tanks and delicious tropical juice drinks. Whats not to love about Rubicon!
id like to see a comparison with these and the warlord stuff as they’ve just brought out a plastic stug aswell
I will probably mix and match Warlord and Rubicon – mostly Rubicon vehicles and Warlord infantry at the moment. The kits are easy to build apart from some fiddly way of attaching the main guns on some Rubicon tanks.
Bloody marvellous details on them!
I have both the warlord cromwell and the rubicon Pz111. Warlord models go together quicker, but the tracks can be a pain, and the modeller in me is a bit disappointed by the wheels being all in one piece. Rubicon models take a bit longer to put together, but I think the wheels look better, the tracks are easier, being molded with one set of road wheels generally, and they tend to come with more options, for example the Rubicon sherman has all 3 gun options ( 75mm, 76mm and 105mm howitzer). They are also the only way to get a… Read more »
I think all Russians tanks look best on fire. 😉
I have the Warlord Sdkfz 251/1c from Panzergrenadier and the 251/10c version with the ‘door knocker’ 37mm. They look fine. But I am really looking forward to Rubicon’s 251d variants – that Stuka zu Fuss is just the dog’s danglies. And you get spare rockets!
I must say, the artwork on these boxes are bloody incredible!
