Roman Legionaries Armour Up From Anvil Industry
May 6, 2016 by brennon
Anvil Industry have previewed this neat project which was first aimed at being a private project - now however these Semi-Fantasy Roman Legionaries might find their way onto their webstore in the future.
The miniature stands at around the 35mm scale so it's a bit bigger than normal. While it retains a lot of the Historical look behind the Romans it does have a few embellishments to push it over the edge.
It looks like Anvil are aiming to sell these later on down the line as we mentioned above as well as the bitz so you could get those shields by themselves.
What do you think?

Rome vs China!
that could cover Alexander the Great then?
nice.
I’ll be sticking with Victrix.. 😉
Love the helmet and the shield tho!
Same here, this is too Hollywood for me.
Well they don’t claim them to be historically accurate
Yup, fair enough!
I think the closest a Roman Army got to China(prisoners etc not withstanding) was under Trajan when they seem to have got within a days march of a Chinese frontiy post
Frontier even
I’ve no plans on collecting any Romans but I do like this chap.
I think the Parthians did their very best to keep the two empires apart 😉
Any form of military contact is of course pure speculation.
Roman emissaries have been recorded by the Chinese tho but in the mid second century AD.
Roman glass ware was as popular as Chinese silk I suppose..
Imagine if they did steam-powered Roman war-machines – lets see the Parthians deal with that!
I would get a small unit of these to part-fantasy steam-punk a historical Roman army. There was a company doing the historical Qin/Han Army but with optional fantasy units – animated Terracotta Warriors and monstrous Fu dogs?
Yep..Watchful I. I’ve backed their KS. Lovely figures 😎
These are pretty nice. Anvil seem to be doing well for themselves.
Really wish they had a known release date
