The Robocop of Wild West Exodus Prepares for Battle
April 16, 2014 by dracs
Wild West Exodus are preparing to bring out a new version of the cyborg lawman Morgan Earp, this time all geared up in his mighty battle armour.
We have previously seen Morgan Earp (pictured above alongside the new sculpt), but his new Battle Armoured form sees him bringing the power of Gatling guns on the enemies of the law.
Now I first came across Morgan Earp in the novel I reviewed. However, in that story he was far more inhuman and disturbing in appearance. I much prefer that description over this miniature, where it looks more like he is simply wearing armour, rather than being kept alive by cyborg components.
Will Morgan bring the power of the law to your gaming table?
Is it over-the-top? Absolutely, but that is WWX’s style. You either love it or leave it.
This is the sort of over-the-top that I like though. It is certainly better than the Super Prussian model coming out for the Union next month which I’m not a fan of.
Sam, I’m with you. While this version of Morgan is another great sculpt, it doesn’t satisfy the image I have of him from the first Jesse James novel. The size is probably about right but it does look more like an armour suit rather than a cyborg “body swap” which is what I was expecting and would look frickin’ awesome(er).
I binned the idea of getting into this game when they deviated from the western/future/steampunk sort of motif… and please don’t throw quotes at me from all the fluff. I don’t care. If I want to game sci-fi there’s always Infinity.
It still is a western/future/steampunk game. Without the I win button feel of Infinity to boot, just for your info (and since you sound a bit bent out of shape) nobody has “quoted” from the fluff. Perhaps “cyborg” which was my own choice of word, was the wrong one. How about mechanical body replacement.
Looks like you just got here, judging by the number of posts. There have been several conversations regarding the ‘world’ of Exodus that you may have missed. Seems I can’t voice an opinion on this site anymore without being attacked. Time to find another.
I personally think that this is still very Cowpunk as much as it has ever been and still very much looking forward to getting a few more models yet. 😀
Outlaw confirmed that Morgan is in fact “Torso-boy”… having all his limbs removed… and his torso is plugged into the two variant suits… Street Cop arms and legs…. and Battle Suit with Gatling arm and Triple-barrel cannon… the idea that he is plugged into various options is pretty cool… creepy… but cool… Morg’ sits inside the chest of the Battle Suit… this is one of my most anticipated models… as it will bring my OK Corral posse to the battlefront… In the novel Morgan is already plugged into his Battle Armor and thus did not get much by way of… Read more »
Despite being “here” for a year I’ve not felt the need to post anything. This happens to be a game I’m interested in CPauls1 and I’ll apologizenifty you fell I attacked you (mean of me). Your entitled to your opinion, I’m entitled to disagree regardless of how long people have been “here” wherever that maybe. I do lean on nearly 30 years of gaming experience when I make a comment, which isn’t apparent from a post count sadly. I have read some of the posts regarding the fluff and also all the fluff in the WWX rulebook as well as… Read more »
