Follow The Road To Power With New Satyr Art Studio Set

Satyr Art Studio is selling the first run of their awesome new Road To Power set. This is a fantastic set of five 28mm Oldhammer Fantasy miniatures based on the artwork of Tony Ackland. It follows a soldier of the Empire and their fall to Chaos.
The Road To Power // Satyr Art Studio
You start off The Road To Power with a regular Empire soldier who might have become disillusioned with those in power and the followers of Sigmar. Maybe they were betrayed or they are simply seeking power for their own selfish needs. From there, the miniature continues to get more and more gifted with armour, a powerful daemon weapon and mutations bestowed by the gods.

The final stage is that of the Daemon Prince who has fully embraced the power of Chaos and now seeks to destroy all in the name of the gods. It's great seeing Tony Ackland's work getting represented in these miniatures and I like how close to the original art the sculpts are. These would be perfect for someone looking to dive into a Path To Glory campaign for Warhammer Fantasy Battles or The Old World, charting the downfall of a hero or villain and the slow change of those under his command.
You could use these miniatures to cover the leader of your force and then really dive into the kitbashing when it comes to the rest of your army. Start them off as regular Empire State Troops and then slowly add more Marauder bits into the mix with mutations and the like.
If you'd like to see these miniatures in person, Satyr Art are going to be at Bring Out Your Lead this year over the weekend of 2nd-4th August showing the miniatures to Ackland himself. Maybe you could go and pick the brains of the sculptor!
What do you make of The Road To Power?

That’s such a great idea. I wonder where the artwork is from. I should dust off my old Slaves to Darkness book for a flip through.
Lovely sculpts
This brings a tear to my eye. Tony Ackland’s artwork was one of the first things that caught my eye and drew me to the hobby.
Yowsa… the slow process of corruption really does make more sense if you give the visuals. Sweet deal
