Forget The Batmobile, Take A Ride In Knight Model’s Jokermobile!
March 18, 2017 by brennon
Knight Models has shown off another of the big Arkham Knight releases coming your way soon for their DC Universe Miniatures Game and Batman Miniatures Game. Here we have the Jokermobile which shows up towards the later half of the video game when Batman isn't quite in the right state of mind...
This has been called a 'skin' for the Batmobile so it's not obvious just yet whether or not this is an entirely new model kit or an add-on set which can be used on your own copy of the Batmobile.
We shall have to wait and see but for Batman fans, there's a glimpse at the rules here too to get your mind wrapped around.
What do you think of this popping up in the game?

I love it ………After seeing the Aquaman mini earlier in the week I cracked and bought the rules. It arrived yesterday (Thanks Combat Company) before the weekend.
Now I have the entire weekend to myself with none of the family here, so i spent several happy hours reading it last night enthralled by it(beer with the boys down the pub usually ensures that I’d normally be snoring at 10 pm but not with this book)
Long story shot, bloody fantastic mini for a really cool game
This appears to be a conversion kit for the Batmobile already on sale. From teasers there are going to be a few. Personally, as much as I like BMG I feel this is a bit underwhelming. We know there are Arkham Knight Militia drone tanks on the way (which look to be laser cut mdf kits) so at least it wont just be Batmobiles for all.
This knight model release leaves me a bit cold.. I’ve loved and played the game from the beginning, but I don’t like the direction this is going.
What @mage said, what about the ‘direction’ don’t you like? The seemingly increasing vehicle focus? The effective recycling of an existing kit?
Don’t know.. I think it’s the increased model count and vehicles. I can see an arms race between the different factions, and particular with tanks and anti tanks and it will loss the small scale feel that I love about the game.
My concern with vehicles is fitting them on a 3×3 board. And that too many of them are going to be tanks.
I wouldn’t say that model count is really going up at this point, although there are some hints that maybe KM would like to see larger games. It will always be limited by time though for most people. Larger crews take longer to play, which is actually reflected in the official tournament rules which recommends upper limits on crew sizes.
What do you not like about the direction
that looks fantastic.
looks like a fun ride 😀
To be honest I think this release is a bit ‘meh’. It would have been far nicer to have rules for Swat Vans, police cars, armoured trucks, civilian vehicles and so forth (haven’t kept a close eye on releases for this game but I don’t recall seeing anything about generic vehicles; yes there’s rules for how vehicles work in the game in the Flash/Arrow book, but no stats for generic vehicles). And even this, okay it’s based on something from the video game, but ultimately it’s just a reskinned batmobile; would have been far nicer to have a Jokermobile that’s… Read more »
We are still waiting on generic vehicles and the SWAT van. It could be in the upcoming AK Campaign book but we don’t yet. They appear to have the license for pretty much everything except the Tim Burton/90’s films. We have have animated series characters so the vehicles shouldn’t be a stretch. I think it just comes down to design/production resources. Converting the existing AK Batmobile is a low cost way to put out more options so they are doing that. We have seen AK Militia vehicles in teaser pics so we know those are coming soon too. Beyond that?… Read more »
Usually Knight Models make some great models but this one feels let down since it’s pretty much just modded Batmobile.
Wow even the stat card labels it as a skin…
@mecha82 But that is what it is from the computer game, and this is a faithful representation of it.
As for model counts, nobody is forcing anyone playing games of a larger size.
@mage Let me make something clear. Like always I was only talking about model in question since I have no interest in playing Batman miniatures game as I don’t care about Batman nor I don’t care if it’s like in video game. I am sorry if you feel offended by my opinion but o one can change that.
Im not offended, not at all dude 🙂 What I’m saying is, that is more or less how the model appears as in the video game that the upcoming campaign book is based off. Here’s a link to it 8) http://ie.ign.com/wikis/batman-arkham-knight/Jokermobile It’s a representation of the batmobile where if the joker had the tech to produce one, in his own image. I’m trying to describe it to not spoil the computer game if you play it, regarding plot. I mean, it isn’t a bad model in the context of what it is based on, as it is a very accurate… Read more »
Seeing the source material really changes my view on this. They got it rather close to the games version that I was unaware of.
