Retro Sci-Fi Takes Over Crooked Dice’s 7TV This Summer
August 2, 2024 by brennon
Crooked Dice has released a new set of 28mm miniatures for their own Summer of Sci-Fi (everyone's at it at the moment!). They have released some awesome retro Sci-Fi miniatures alongside some cool cats dressed like everyone in the late 90s and early 2000s.
Fugitive Fleet Heroes // Crooked Dice
We start with the Fugitive Fleet Heroes who might be trying to make their way home as part of a huge fleet of starships. With blasters at the ready and in some super classic "cool guy" outfits, they are going to stick it to those dastardly robots that keep trailing them through the stars. The character likenesses are spot on. Fun fact, I never actually watched the modern Battlestar Galactica but I do remember the older series because it often popped up during the afternoon on TV!
As well as the Heroes, you've also got the Fugitive Fleet Command who might have hidden motives

Once again, they are spot on and they should be a solid fit for someone wanting to play out the classic TV show on the tabletop. I could see all of these characters having great fun rushing through the Sci-Fi terrain from Battle Systems.
Kung-Fu & Noisy Crickets
You can also pick up some miniatures that have been previewed for a while now. The Node Agents are jacking in and kicking ass.
Node Agents // Crooked Dice
You get an awesome miniature to represent The One as well as his mentor, his true love and his nemesis. The miniatures, once again, look fantastic and they feel like they need to be displayed against a movie poster-style backdrop for maximum cool.
The Blacklight Agents are also hitting the streets and looking to tackle all manner of interglactic threats to planet Earth. You get a good mix of different agents for games that feature a mixture of intrigue and combat.
Blacklight Agents // Crooked Dice
A solid collection of miniatures already and the start to some interesting scenarios in 7TV.
Time Travelling Companion
As if that wasn't enough, a faithful robotic pooch has also entered the Sci-Fi range.
Robot Dog // Crooked Dice
A lovable Robot Dog that you could travel through time and space with. I imagine there will be a few folks out there who are avid fans of the Doctor who will be picking this fellow up.

Crooked Dice just keep on making awesome stuff!
Original Battlestar Galactica was a fun first series. The second series with the lame actors and earthbound setting was rubbish. I gave up on the reboot.
The miniatures are perfect. Also like the matrix set. Crooked dice do the some of the best minatures and I own a good number, but always room for more.
Agreed on Battlestar Galactica. They need to do a Twiggy robot, can’t remember if they do one or not. They already have lots of Cylons(not-Cylons)
Twiki was Buck Rogers in 25th Century and they do that along with Daggett which is one from Battlestar (the kid Boxy’s replacement dog).

Dang! You’re right! One of the first toys I got as a kid was Twiki. Right around the time I was watching those shows. Can’t believe I mixed it up. Thanks dude!

oooooooooooooooooooooooooh
-er missus!
Finished it for you ?
Ooh Wow fabulous looking figures for gaming with.?
I might need to buy those node agents. If anyone was looking for some extra “agents”, EM2 do a few suits with guns that look like they would be a really good match
Those are all just soooo lovely.
Pure nostalgia alone dictates that they must be bought.
My pile of shame is about to get slightly bugger.
Oh you can take my money!
Awesome stuff as ever. I am hoping they make some more Pulp miniatures – Now I have The Shadow and The Phantom, I really want to get a Doc Savage mini!
Have a look at the Pulp Figures range, available from Northstar in the UK. Set PHP05 Doc Thompson and his Fabulous Four might fit the bill, though you’d be missing a Long Tom and Pat.
