Renegade Develop WizKids’ Wardlings World For 5th Edition
March 13, 2019 by brennon
Renegade Game Studios are going to be working with WizKids to develop a supplement for 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons that builds on their Wardlings line of miniature heroes.
The idea will be to design a set of rules which use the 5th Edition mechanics to bring these young heroes to life alongside their animal companions.
Young Heroes
In the world of Wardlings young warriors, spellcasters and tricksters are blessed with the power to defeat evil monsters and keep the darkness at bay. To help them in that struggle they also can communicate with their faithful animal companions!
Rules are being developed by Elisa Teague who is a veteran of the industry. I am pretty fascinated by what they're doing here with this supplement and hopefully, it appeals to a lot of younger players out there. Heck, I'd love to give this a go too!
There's something of the Narnia about what they're planning here which also saw young heroes trying to struggle against a dangerous Fantasy world. I love it. WizKids has also said that they are going to be working on more and more miniatures for this collection, expanding on it to not just include heroes but also maybe some villains too.
Are you tempted by this?

Those sculpts are not very good and those awful paint jobs don’t make any favors to those either.
I think the sculpts are great. The paint jobs are typically WizKid pre-paint style but you could tidy them up. For young people playing games and handling their models a lot, I think they are going to be very happy with what they get.
Nice figure’s get a bit of a Final Fantasy vibe of them.
For three year olds and up, I think this is fantastic to be honest.
