Kitted out in Spartan style armour, Ares here is posed in mid-charge and ready to impale some Persians. The only thing he is missing is the iconic full-faced helmet. Ares is just too hard-core for head protection.

Do gods have shorter legs than humans? Also, he’s not all that buff for a god.
The legs look correctly proportioned to me. Don’t let the posture or the clothing deceive you.
It’s nice model, but I can’t really see this as Ares. A Spartan Champion or maybe even King Leonidas but not the God Of War. He doesn’t seem to portray any of the rage and bloodlust which he represented.
Is “300” peoples only frame of reference for Greek warfare? :p
