Empress Releases New Soldiers For Spanish & English Civil Wars
August 15, 2016 by stvitusdancern
Empress Miniatures continues to bring you some of the finest miniatures for all kinds of periods in history.
This time they have added some Republican soldiers for the Spanish Civil War that look like that they are in the heat of battle. To show that they are not playing favorites, they have also included an Italian mortar crew set that you would think they are at the range with how relaxed and casual they are.
The next set they have available are some mounted options for the English Civil War.
These mounted troops come in two different head swaps to be able for you to mix it up.
These sculpts like all of their sculpts are crisp and clean and would be an incredible addition to anyone's games and collections.
What is your favorite period time to game in?

I know I should like these but along with the rest of Empress ECW range I just can’t get into them
Still prefer the Renegade and Bicorne ranges
Lovely sculpts. The Italian mortar team is a must, just for the loader passing over a bottle of wine so his team can share it.
Yeah the mortar crew is nice
As an aside from the couple of games if BA I have played I gave thought it would be far better suited to SCW than WW2( at least all the late war stuff)
@torros why do you say this? I suppose that question could be taken as why do you think BA is not so well suited to late war WWII or why is it well suited to SCW?
I’d like to game the SCW so would be interested to know what about the nature of the conflict, in your view, makes BA s rules set worth considering?
I think SCW is more infantry based with a few light tanks and armoured cars. I think this is something BA was designed for rather than loads of heavy tanks rumbling about the tabletop
Ah, I see. Good point.
I suppose also that as the tanks would have been that much lighter they’d be less ‘unbalancing’ than they can be in late war WWII games.
Thanks.
I love their ECW range and have a growing Parliamentarian army. Seems I’ll be adding to the Horse soon 😎
If only I had the time to paint them all…
I really like their Spanish Civil War range.
I use their Nationalist Cavalry as Italian for Bolt Action.
They look excellent.
I’ve got to admit I’m tempted to add yet another period / game to my collection and get into Spanish Civil War gaming, although I don’t know what scale I should do or what rules to use (or even if I should take the plunge at all). There are so many lovely figures at different scales I’ve seen, and as it would be starting something entirely new, I’ve got much freer reign and far fewer preconceptions or prejudices than I would most of the time.
