Red Bull Untapped Worldwide MTG Tournament Returns!
October 1, 2021 by fcostin
As somebody who has streamed a lot of PlayStation games on Twitch, and spent a lot of hours wasting time watching E-Sports, it truly does make my heart warm when I see big brands cooperating in E-sports within our industry. One that tends to be overshadowed by video gaming.
Card games are incredibly cut-throat and competitive. No, I am not talking about your everyday Exploding Kittens match (although that has caused a few arguments in my household), I am talking about the likes of Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon. Where players dual and battle for a grand prize.

Wizards of the Coast and Red Bull have teamed up for the Red Bull Untapped event, holding a worldwide tournament for Magic: The Gathering.
Coming back for the third time due to popular demand, MTG: Arena will be utilised as a part of six different Untapped events starting this month and finishing at the late end of November.

The competition has been funded by Red Bull and is completely free to enter. Seeing previous years entrees in the 20,000s+, I anticipate there will be more card gamers coming out of the woodwork to compete after fiercely practising during lockdown.
If you are interested in joining for your chance to win, and playing a bit of esports: the event is virtual and sign up is still open to register here. Do let us know if you compete though, we would love to support you!
However, if you are keen on being a bit of a lurker throughout the event, there is a Discord channel available here for you to keep up to date with the progression of the event.
What tabletop title would you like to see more for as a part of competitive Esports?
