Red Box Games Tinker With 3D Sculpted Norsemen
November 27, 2020 by brennon
Building on from what we saw last week, we got another few previews from Red Box Games as they continue to tinker with the idea of 3D sculpting over the traditional method. It's nice to see folks giving new things a go and here we have a few more of the modular options for their Norsemen!
Huntsman With Spear // Red Box Games
Tre Manor has been having a pop at working on some additional characters for the range including the likes of this Huntsman here who is armed with a spear in one hand and a torch in the other. The idea is that they would be modular, much like with the Hirdmen we saw last week, and you could swap in whatever weapons work for you.
I like the look of these Norsemen as a whole because they are a bit chunkier and "heroic" than some of the Historical range and would work for those looking to play out a more legendary "saga-worthy" battle on the tabletop.
Huntsman With Bow // Red Box Games
You've also got a few more body options and weapons that are in the mix as you can see here. I have been playing Assassins' Creed: Valhalla over the last week or so and that might have coloured my thoughts on anything Nordic but I think these look pretty swish.
Huntsman With Sword // Red Box Games
They might be a little different from what we're used to seeing from Tre Manor, an exceptional sculptor who has been working in the industry for years, but I think they could be a really fun project to work on come 2021 when you're seeking out something new to paint.
Are you liking the modularity of the miniatures we've seen so far and what would you like to see Tre work on next?

Those look really promising.
Nice if they make a variety of head options would make a great scout force.
Still dont understand… RBG has one of the best hand sculpted miniatures. Why do they want to make so mediocre 3D renders?
Agree, no matter how good the software it still comes nowhere close to the natural posing that hand sculpted minis from the like of Tre and Hasslefree. Possible that he might be going over to selling STLs perhaps?
