Rebuild The Empire In Rome & Roll
May 30, 2019 by cassn
64 AD: Rome is burnt to cinders, in need of rebuilding. With the city weakened, distant settlements across the empire refuse to pay taxes and need reminding of power of Rome.
Emperor Nero gathers the most influential members of the city with a clear task: rebuild Rome and recapture the settlements.
Rome and Roll is a new roll-and-write game from PSC Games which focuses on the reconstruction of Rome after the great fire decimates the city. Each player has a set of asymmetric abilities which they must strategically use to help rebuild Rome into its former glory in this competitive game!
Players draft from a pool of dice, collecting their resources and performing actions. Using their polymino-style map, players will collect legionnaires, invade rogue settlements, and expand the network of Roman roads to link the Seven Hills of Rome. Trade with other players and build glorious Shrines to enact godly favours, and become the saviour who rebuilt Rome!
Rome and Roll is a really interesting development in the Roll-and-Write genre, which demonstrates successfully that these low component games don't mean smaller strategic options or player interactions. PSC Games will be demoing Rome and Roll at UKGE 2019 at stand 1-252, so don't forgot to call over and get a closer look!
