Rain Explosives Down On Your Enemies With Rubicon’s M21 Mortar Motor Carriage
May 20, 2015 by brennon
Rubicon Models have come up with a nifty kit for the M21 Mortar Motor Carriage that you can learn a little more about here. It's in 28mm scale and comes armed with an M1 Mortar (81mm). See what you think of the design so far...
As well as the mortar towards the front of the vehicle it also has a machine gun on the back which could be used to provide some supporting fire if it came under attack. As a vehicle of war it was used on the Western Front in Normandy and in Southern France as well as having a role within the fighting that happened around the Battle of the Bulge.
The Free French also got their hands on a few of these when they were leased out to them. In tabletop terms it will be coming out somewhere between July and September.
Would you pick one up?

Absolutely yes. I have a selection of their kits and the only grouse I have is their somewhat arcane method of attaching main weapons to tank turrets – it is fiddley to say the least. But the rest of the componets go together easily, are very well moulded and produce a detailed but gameable piece. This is a variant for a series of M3 based halftracks Rubicon are proposing along the same lines as their Sdkfz251/D series already released. They are perfectly compatible with Bolt Action and other 28mm scale games.
