Ragnarok Showcase “The Dvergatal” Collection Coming Soon

Ragnarok Miniatures has been showing off more of their finished miniatures from their upcoming "The Dvergatal" collection. This new set of metal 28mm Fantasy miniatures are going to be coming to Kickstarter very soon.

I wonder if you can work out why I'm particularly excited about this set of releases? Not only do you have a great set of Dwarven warriors, inspired by Norse mythology and Tolkienesque adventures but also a wonderful grey-cloaked Wizard and his Halfling friend. It wouldn't take much to make a band of thirteen Dwarves who are on a quest to rid their home of a deadly wyrm.
Whilst the Dwarves are the main focus of the new Kickstarter campaign, the team at Ragnarok are also working on a massive host of Goblins. The "Goblin Grab Bags" are one of the options that you'll get to choose from which includes fifty randomly picked Goblins.

Talking of the campaign itself, the idea is that it will only run for twenty-one days and they are aiming to clear all of the orders from it within twelve weeks. A quick turnaround for those who are itching to get painting these various miniatures.
The aim is that the Kickstarter will fire up in a couple of weeks alongside the opening of the Ragnarok Miniatures webstore. The team have done a solid job on their previous creations and it would be good for folks to be able to snap them up if they missed the last couple of campaigns.
Are you tempted to dive in and play out the story of The Hobbit using these figures? I think you could play out quite a lot of it, especially Goblin Town, using their metal miniatures.
Let me know below!

Those look really good.
Great looking figures love the goblins out to kick ass.
Gandalf? 😉
I do love the Ragnarok Miniatures but, having missed the first Kickstarter it seems there is no place to buy after the Kickstarter campaign. That means I have to buy everything I think I might need up front in advance. I would be more tempted by this if there were some indication of a Webstore where I could buy more later I think they would all be perfect for my current Saga Age of Magic project
I believe the plan is that the webstore with all of the existing models will open at the same time as the Kickstarter goes live.
I’ve backed stuff before where the plan was to have a Webstore. But the best laid plans of mice and men etc…
Monolith are still talking about building a Webstore 7 years after their original Conan Kickstarter, I don’t think they’re any close. If these guys get a proper Webstore in time for KS this could be a go.
Colin has said this next Kickstarter will come either at the same time the web store opens, or after. He does want to make money, after all! 😀
I love Colin’s sculpts. I must resist for long enough to paint what I have from the first two Kickstarters. They have used Kickstarter in the way that it was actually intended – a small company just starting out, with a great product not currently on the market, needing to develop production capacity who used the money wisely to invest in their production capacity. Well done them.
I’m a simple man. I see Colin Patten miniatures; I buy them. I am so excited about these particular figures! He has also confirmed that unarmoured ‘travelling’ versions of these characters will come along eventually, along with ponies. I’ve played GW’s Middle-earth SGB in all its various iterations since it came out in 2001, and although I bought a copy of the starter box for The Hobbit (Escape from Goblin Town) a decade ago, I’ve still never actually gotten around to painting the dwarves it came with because so many of them are just so… goofy. Not at all what I… Read more »
