Ragnarok Miniatures’ Evil Dvergr Kickstarter Now Live
March 3, 2021 by brennon
Ragnarok Miniatures are now live on Kickstarter with their new campaign to bring their collection of 28mm Evil Dvergr (Dwarves) to the tabletop. If you're into Norse Mythology and you like the idea of running a grim and dangerous band of bearded warriors then the miniatures from Collin Patten might be for you.

There is a myriad of different options for you to choose from when diving into this Kickstarter but it's all Dwarf, all the way. What's not to love? Patten has gone to the trouble of sculpting up a range of Dwarves which should be able to fill the slots of a typical Fantasy army.

As well as working on the rank and file, armed with spears, halberds, bows and regular hand weapons, the campaign also looks to introduce characters, heroes and plenty of elite troops as well. Plenty of the miniatures are available in separate "sets" but also as larger bundles so you can just get started with a full warband.

The miniatures are all 28mm scale as mentioned earlier and are cast in white metal. If you're looking for that old school feel then these are certainly in that wheelhouse. There is plenty here to get you started in games like Age Of Magic or other games like Warlords Of Erehwon.

The miniatures are also a good fit for those looking to mix them in alongside alternative ranges. If you've been playing Oathmark then these match quite nicely with the plastic and metal figures from the North Star collection. Perhaps these would be the perfect allies for an army of the undead?
It's also hard to ignore the wild weapons of the Bone Heads and the Ulfhednar who are going to be your stand-in for berserker on the battlefield.

Justin might be getting the clippers out for these fellows but I'm sure others will be just fine! I do think these are particularly excellent and I think it would be great to see people go to town with warpaint, daubed blood and wounds across their bodies as they get lost in the mayhem of battle.
The Restless Dead
Not content with just producing Dwarves, Patten has also added a set of Draugr into the mix for those who want to unleash the dead on the battlefield.
Draugr // Ragnarok Miniatures
These might be some fun miniatures to introduce into your army as either cursed warriors who have been asked to fight by the side of the Dvergr or enemies that they have to contend with. With all of the bad seidr and troll-craft about it wouldn't surprise me to find that something unnatural has crept into their ancient halls.
Are you tempted by this campaign?

The Draugr I really like
Nice range. I don’t know that anything makes them “evil” dwarves (not that anything has to other than backstory). I like the more conservative sculpts on most of the units and the more dynamic berserker models. Makes for a nice contrast and adds character.
Those look really good.
Great looking Viking/Northern warriors.
I’m all in on this and hoping some of the other promised ranges of men and elves will make an appearance as stretch goals. Really good value too, 117 28mm minis for £150 plus p&p.

I’ve contacted Colin with my concerns about those nekkid Dwarfs, surely the genitalia are not to scale? I mean …
