Mush, Mush, Mush In A Race Across Perilous Terrain In Hike!
January 14, 2022 by fcostin
Quite recently, I think due to being inside so much - I hate watching TV! I have found myself spending evenings playing lightweight card games. They keep my brain busy, I always have a giggle and I feel like I have done something with my evening. Even if things do get a bit too competitive.
Hike! // Snowboard Games
Card drafting games are normally the games that I repeat during evening games hour. They are usually fast-paced and always end with a laugh no matter how many players are engaged. Plus I can squeeze a few different games in within a small period of time.
There is one card game up on Kickstarter that tickled my fancy for a fun and fast-paced card game, that would fit right into my evening gaming sessions. As players take to the blizzardy wilderness as a musher behind a hearty team of huskies. 2-6 players must race against their opponents over an enduring long-distance of dangers ahead in Hike!
Players must compete to reach the end of the track before their opponents. However, this is a game of tactics, as their huskies are the key to success - with their abilities helping them through the rough terrain. Not only do huskies have abilities to help, but players will have to prepare for the road ahead with equipment along the journey and the dogs must be trained for a whirlwind trip across the snow.
Box & Components // Hike!
Balancing a combination of preparation, skill and a hint of luck, all players will guide their way through snow collecting points and ensuring they do not veer into the other player's track, and shoop their way into succession.
The campaign has not been up for long, with 27 days still on the clock and already funded. There are loads of social goals and stretch goals to still be unlocked with some Kickstarter exclusive too available by a separate pledge.
Would you go journeying on game night alongside your huskies with Hike!?

fantasy football with a difference ?
Sometimes I do wonder if board game articles like this are worth it as they probably don’t remotely get the amount of traffic to established systems. I’m really grateful though for this post as there is no chance I would have come across this game normally. Both theme and gameplay are exactly what my nieces would adore so this is a rare KS for me to back. Thank you.
That’s what we’re aiming for – trying to put little nuggets of something different out there alongside the standard wargaming fare. Hopefully, it will get one or two people interested in something they would otherwise have missed.
It looks nice.
