Two New Quirky Characters Join The Hasslefree Family
April 19, 2017 by brennon
There is certainly one rather quirky individuals joining the ranks of the Hasslefree family soon as Steve hits the tabletop for your otherworldly Sci-Fi adventures.
So what's this fellow all about?
"'Steve' is another escapee from the hybrid experimentation factory that spawned H4, Smudgester and Chipster. Attempting Hybrids to operate on hostile swamp planets they used an extinct Earth mammals DNA.
Since their escape, Steve has banded with Chipster and is outfitted in similar custom-designed armour, with an IR-Win cyber-eye, and is armed with a railgun of unknown origin."
I think he looks rather neat and would work as a cool new addition to your Rogue Stars force if you've been playing that game from Osprey. We need more Sci-Fi animals hitting the tabletop I reckon.
Mighty Grond
If you prefer your Fantasy then Hasslefree also have Grond who will be available for pre-release at Salute this coming weekend.
When it comes to models for Goliaths and Half-Orcs in your games of D&D it can be a bit of a challenge to find something that fits but this fellow here looks spot on. He even has something of the Regdar about him, one of the Iconic Heroes from Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition.
Will you be picking up either of these?

Steve the Platypus hey? …. Very nice and I like Grond a lot too. Nice work hasslefree
It’s funny… I never knew I needed a sci-fi, rail gun toting, mutant platypus. But there you go.
They look awesome! I’m speechless…
I need that platypus mini. It looks so awesome.
Hrm got so distracted by Steve the Railgun wielding platypus that I missed the Grond model, which is quite spectacular.
Halfway there to Deadeye Duck. So when will we see a Bucky O’Hare miniatures game?
“Let’s croak off some toads!”
Currently there is only one copy of Steve out and about and if your at Salute on saturday, you can see him in the flesh/ resin/ armour/ whatever at the Hasslefree/ Random platypus Game table (GM01) by the Hasslefree stand. Come by and say hello.
Oh and @bucketknight we have discussed the crew of the Indefatigable as possible followups but the guys at Hasslefree will be running a poll on their facebook page in the near future to decide whos next.
Grond is truly epic, I need him frostgrave.
As for the platypus guy Im getting a Rocket Racoon vibe, always good.
My Son saw the pic and said Perry the Platypus looks different. (From a Disney cartoon for those who are not aware)
