Get Pumped for Edge of Tomorrow With its Latest Trailer

One of the most intriguing movies coming out this year is Tom Cruise's latest science fiction film. Mixing elements of Twilight Zone mystery with blockbuster action, the Edge of Tomorrow's latest trailer has me really excited for this film.
Based upon a Japanese light novel, Edge of Tomorrow stars Tom Cruise as Lt. Col. William Cage, an inexperienced officer sent on a suicide mission against an alien invasion.
However, Cage finds himself trapped in a loop, dying and being flung back into the battle repeatedly. He finds help and training from Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), a special forces soldier who knows how to exploit this loop. With each battle and each death, Cage gains experience, turning into a weapon to fight the invading forces.
The premise of someone repeatedly dying and learning from the experience, much in the way a video game character might be said to, is a really interesting premise for a film.
The action sequences look particularly promising, especially when, to my eye at least, they appear to resemble what you might imagine Dropzone Commander would be like.
Has this latest trailer got you excited for Edge of Tomorrow?
Should be a good popcorn movie.
Looks good so far.
if they have exo suits that big why haven’t they put armour on it!
Because that would hide the Cruise’s face, body, and fabulous ACTING TALENT!
colour me intrigued.
maybe the weight of armour negates the effectiveness of the suit the enemy looks swift and strong so making slow suits would make them easier to destroy.?
If you like this you should check out the manga it is based on. It’s called ALL YOU NEED IS KILL. Get on the hype train!!!
This movie badly needs a Bill Murray cameo.
Also James Earl Jones should be dubbed over Cruise’s 😛
I’m not that convinced at the moment. Looks alright but not blowing me away right now.
I’ll go see it and decide afterwards.
Doubt the critics will like it but then I never saw the need for critics, I like to make my own mind up.
Because you can’t watch/read/play/do everything. Nor can be you be aware of everything you could possibly do. Done well, the role of the critic helps bring things to your attention that are worthwhile spending your time on and helps you tailor your personal tastes to recommendations.
I have genres etc that I follow closely, anything else I either stumble across or it passes me by entirely. I like those moments when something you missed pops up at a later time, kind of what makes life interesting.
Though I have to say I found Barry Norman extremely useful. Whatever he hated was guaranteed to entertain me 😉
If people find critics useful then more power to them but personally they are not for me.
