The Prussian Landwehr Coming Soon To Warlord’s Black Powder
September 7, 2017 by brennon
Building on their Black Powder collection for your Napoleonic gaming, Warlord Games have previewed the upcoming Prussian Landwehr Regiment.
The regiment seems like it has been designed with a decidedly 'off the battlefield' feel to it as if they are preparing to march or standing on parade for their officers. I like that some of the soldiers are glancing around and it almost gives the model a sense of place for a diorama.
Additionally, you have the wounded soldiers who have been dragged from their beds to stand to attention.
What do you think of these Prussians?

Are these a new release?
I know Warlord did them in a small 2 figure sprue, but not sure if these are new models or not.
yeah – the plastics aren’t bad, but these are more akin to a metal set of pike/musket landwehr they’ve done. don’t recognise the sculpts so I think they are new. Pretty or not, they’ll be Prussian up the daisy’s if ever they get in range of my boys hehe
I think the Perrys have already done these
Not in plastic unfortunately..
But those look better than WG’s first effort. Might grab a box..
These are plastic, the officer and drummer are metal
Must have been thinking of these

Those are really nice.
great looking soldiers.
@brennon the landwehr were basically militia or home guard units so they were most likely not as well trained or disciplined as the regular Prussian army.
mhm those are real nice…. kinda tickle some memories of Napoleon Total War where I played Prussians and ended up killing Napoleon with a lucky artillery shot. France didn’t do that well afterwards
