Forward Progress On The DUST Battlefront
May 17, 2015 by stvitusdancern
Good news, at last! (At least we hope so) It looks like Battlefront and Dust Studio have been talking and will be moving ahead with full-filling the second wave of the Dust Operation Babylon Kickstarter.
Dear Backer,
We received an email from Battlefront yesterday: they said they would check the production list and issue a purchase order on Monday.
Dust Studio will provide Battlefront with a packing list and an invoice by next week. The items are ready and will be shipped to you within one week upon reception of the payment and shipping instructions.
Dust Studio will give Battlefront one week from the invoice date to make the full payment.
We are confident that we are really near to end this struggle at this time and cannot wait to finally deliver the goods to you, our deserving backers.
You should expect the next update as soon as we receive the full payment – we will make sure to keep you informed with the latest developments on a regular basis.
Thank you again for your patience and support.
Sincerely,
Dust Studio Team
Are you anxiously awaiting your Wave 2?

Not a backer, but i’m happy to heard that things ended up… ok, just ended up. It would have been really sad if Dust died because of this, i saw the 50% discount on Dust products in a very well known store ( avoiding promoting stores here… ) and i felt really sad because i just connected the dots together… glad to see this dot can’t be connected with the linechart i draw ( or at least it change its negative direction ).
Well, I think it’s fairly reasonable to assume that the Dust brand has taken a pretty big reputation hit even if they manage to ship out wave 2.
Very true… that’s why i said “just ended up”… someone outside of this two will have to take the entire project under their wing in order to improve confidence… otherwise no one will go to any ks again or buy much of this game outside of really good deals.
In any case, i hope i’m completely wrong because it is an amazing game, with beautiful miniatures and a great story behind it!
I avoid KSs, so, no I am not breathlessly awaiting Wave 2.
Did this kickstarter because what could go wrong with two strong companies, oh well live and learn. It may all just sit around collecting DUST.
Well done, sir. 🙂
Thank you, I don’t have many but…
Hopefully this is the resolution we’ve been waiting for. Dust is a great brand and this Kickstarter should have pushed it’s popularity not destroyed it’s reputation.
a debacle indeed… Dust is pretty much dead by now.
To think FFG was supporting the game really well and they handed it to Battlefront for that result, what a mess !
FF did a lousy job with warfare imo, very disappointing set of rules
I beg to differ my good man, the warfare book is splendid and the ruleset is both original and tactically deep imo 😉
The main online shop I use has all things DUST 50% to 80% off and marked as “clearance” which means once the current inventory is gone they will not order anymore.
DUST is dust. I’m glad the people who KS’d are getting their stuff but after how this whole thing played out I can’t see how anyone would ever give these two companies a chance again.
I always wonder why DS and FFG split. I am friendly with three different game stores and all have complaints about getting FoW products. There have been items that I have ordered via my LGS that have taken 3+ months to get. And a friend ordered a bunch of stuff from BFs online store. It trickled in over 6 months. The communication from BF was pretty poor. So just in my opinion BF is not a perfect example of a company that provides a high level of customer service. Again, my opinion based upon my experiences. But I am also… Read more »
Honestly, this just sounds like more “streets paved with gold” promises.
I read it closely and it is basically DUST Studios making the big promises and then telling us that Battlefront will be on the hook to fulfill those promises.
Talk is real cheap, when you say somebody else is accountable for wild claims.
