Prodos Show Off What They’re Taking to Essen
October 14, 2014 by dracs
If you watched the Weekender last week, you will know that Prodos Games are bringing out a new Bauhaus Starter set for Warzone Resurrection at this year's Essen Spiel. However, it turns out that's not all they have as they show off a couple of the other new releases they'll be bringing.
First, we get a better look at the miniatures in the new Bauhaus starter set.
With this look at the actual miniatures, we can see the level of detail on the designs a bit more clearly. There is a marked improvement in these to the previous starter set, and the horserider looks even cooler than he did in the render.
These aren't the only new goodies Bauhaus are getting, as their famed Venusian Rangers have also received new sculpts.
These guys, complete with their booby trap toke, look really imposing, with their sinister flowing cloaks giving them a great sense of motion, while the variety in available poses and equipment helps to make the individuals.
Finally, Cybertronic isn't going without love as their Mirrormen have also got new sculpts available.
These versions look a lot sturdier than their previous iteration, and Prodos have done away with the off-putting splayed leg stances they had before. Just compare them with this image and see the improvement.
Prodos are also coming out with new sculpts for the Bauhaus Vorreiters, but unfortunately there are no photos of these new sculpts as they are currently in the process of casting.
All of these, along with the rest of the Warzone Resurrection range and samples of AvP: The Hunt Begins, will be appearing at Essen Spiel. However, for those of us who can't make we need not despair as they have already been released on the Prodos Webstore.
What do you think of these new sculpts? Are they an improvement over the previous ones? Will you be checking Prodos out at Essen Spiel?

Although I appreciated the design that went into the Vorreiters, the end result was not something that appealed to me and they were the only Bauhaus unit I didn’t pledge for apart from the Grizzly. I am very keen to see the new model, because if it shows the same level of improvement that the Vulcan did I will be certainly adding it to my next order..
..along with ‘replacements’ for my original Bauhaus starter, two squads of Etoiles Mortants, a squad of Juggernauts and a squad of Venusian Rangers.
Ouch!
Interesting, there is guy riding horse in starter set. Well he is sure taking big risk that some one shoots him from horse or shoots horse and he falls and gets killed that way. Those Venusian Rangers and Mirrormen are really good.
Because a dieselpunk game with goofy demons and jet-shark bikes is clearly concerned with realism of horse riding 😛
Realism no but I do like a level of believability in a game. Sci-fi men on horseback is that bit too daft for me.
But what if the horse is so sci-fi and high tech that it only LOOKS like an ordinary horse? Inside it’s a wonder of technology and cybernetic bits and bobs ;P
Also, it’s good that Prodos is resculpting much of their old minis. In my opinion most of the old models look VERY bad. The old Hussars were nothing short of atrocious. I’ll take a look at this game again in a year or so. Hopefully by then I’ll find a faction where I like enough minis to warrant a purchase.
Or maybe it’s a horse hologram, and the guy is held up by an energy field :-). There…fluff to order.
tbh its depressing to see all the improved minis while sitting here with a bunch of extremely late older models … theyre not bad at all, just not as good as the improved stuff.
Also: they put the pony commander in the bauhaus starter set … its cool artwork but seriously, hows that gonna work convincingly in the game?
Agreed. I like my sci-fi a bit more realistic, or at least believable.
What is with the shoulder pads? They just look wrong and awkward, like they were made for something else. Oh well, at least they’re not the horrifically large comedic ones you see on some other sci-fi models.
😉 on a positive note, a gun in this game is not just something you brought because there were no knives available
lol
Whaddya mean? The horse is a mobile cover. You ride on it to the front, shoot it in the head and voila, you have cover! Also, if it’s winter you can carve it open and sleep inside it. If it works for Han Solo it will work for Steiner as well!
True enough. Also, I just noticed that tracked bike, and given a choice, I would take the horse instead… just to preserve my dignity. That’s one ugly piece of kit.
The quality of the stuff coming out of prodos is outstanding, I carnt wait to see what they do with avp!
Is it just me thinking striking scorpions
