Privateer Press Gives Us A Two Player Set For High Command
May 15, 2015 by stvitusdancern
Privateer Press has released a new 2 player starter set for their combat card game, High Command. In this set called High Command Rapid Engagement, you get...
This new set is fully compatible with either of the current Warmachine High Command or Hordes High Command core sets. I imagine these games would be perfect for any fan of "Warmahordes" and could scratch that itch when needed. We have found ourselves delving into different card systems when we want to do some quick combat and they are easy to carry to get a game in just about anywhere
Is there a battle in the cards for you?

Well I guess I’ll be buying more high command
BUYING RIGHT NOW! My first High command not my favorite price but for that price is just amazing!
that’s fantastic what you get for that price 🙂
I may have to pick this up, as I like playing LCG’s myself 🙂
has anyone had good experience with high command here ? 🙂
any recommendations ? 🙂
I think the most interesting decks are the Faith & Fortune ones. They’re not as competitive as the Hordes as other Warmachine decks, but if you use the max 30VP deckbuilding format then that levels the playing field.
nice 🙂 I’d rather have fun playing the game, rather than a super competitive “no fun zone” deck anyway 😛 ha ha
is that set stand alone too ? 🙂
@redben what is your opinion of the quality of this game? i.e. is it worth getting etc? Rather than, say Warhammer Invasion or 40K Conquest?
Seems to be you quite like it though.
“is that set stand alone too ?” There are 12 playable factions broken down into three sets of four: Warmachine, Hordes, and Warmachine Faith & Fortune. Each has its own starter box allowing you to make a deck for each of the four factions it contains. Then there are packs and small box releases (as with FFG’s LCGs). All of the cards are specific to a faction, so you can’t mix and match releases. The exceptions are the location and Winds of War decks. You can freely use those. @poosh “Quite like it” is about right. I haven’t played Conquest… Read more »
High Command is very good. The mechanics are very straight forward and after a few rounds anybody will have the hang of it. It’s a discard resources to purchase/deploy cards with the aim being to score more VPs than your opponent by capturing locations or purchasing valuable cards from your deck. The max 30VPs per deck is a nice format and definitely helps level the field for the some of the factions. Do we have a UK price for this yet?
Just under £8 it seems?
Is that right?
uu me like!
