Preview What’s On The Workbench For MOMminiaturas This Year
January 3, 2020 by brennon
MOMminiaturas has been doing some great work over the past few years designing miniatures for use with your Oldhammer-style armies in an intriguing way. A lot of our community love seeing what this fellow is up to and some of the latest previews are worth taking another peek at. For example, here is the Centaur design they are working on.
This Centaur has been designed so that it fits into a Northern and more Chaotic aesthetic. You could imagine these Centaurs being soothsayers and defenders of sacred groves deep within the freezing woods of the North. Perhaps they are viewed by the tribesmen there as dangerous and malicious but they are simply trying to stop outsiders from straying into their realm.
Talking of chaotic warriors we also had this preview not long ago too.
Now that would make for a rather good Lord who is taking command of the battlefield. You could imagine him being unaligned and a follower of Chaos Undivided, although with that mace/pick that he has in his meaty fist there could well be a bit of Nurgle about him too.
A Well-Dressed Giant
Finally, we've got a big old fellow who could be used as a Giant in your games. This chap has got a seriously good tailor that's for sure and it probably took quite a few sheep and cows to make his attire!
Now, whilst the model is really awesome I do have to point out that there's nothing on the model which indicates that it is a Giant and not just an oversized miniature. If you're going to be designing a miniature like this then you need to add a few accessories and such across the model which give you an indicator of his size.
That is easy with normal Giants since you can attach hides, skulls and all sorts to their body, maybe swinging from belts, but with someone as dashing as this, you'd have to do something a bit different. I like the idea of him maybe having a cannon attached to his side which he's turned into a massive gun perhaps?
What do you make of these new models in the mix?

Hmmm…one of the merc companies you can take in AoS is the Grug Brothers, so you could kit them out like this guy if you’re running them with a Cities of Sigmar army.
A Gerry in green! XD
They do look great well detailed models.
