Wolfthorn Preview Finished Kickstarter Adventurers
April 27, 2018 by brennon
Wolfthorn Miniatures quite recently fully funded on Kickstarter with a range of different adventuring heroes for your tabletop games and role-playing adventures. Well, here are a few of the most recently finished sculpts for you to enjoy.
The first of these is the Paladin here who looks like she would be a great Elf, Half-Elf style character for your tabletop games. You could imagine her as a proper Divine Paladin or maybe something a little more attuned to nature thanks to the more rag-tag style armour she is wearing. She certainly looks like she has been through the wars.
We also have this Spear Fighter. Both this model and the Paladin were sculpted by Lux Thantor as a heads up.
This fellow looks great, braced in the middle of combat as he readies his spear to strike from over, or indeed under, his shield. I like the design of the armour plating and the wrapping around his legs which suggests a road-weary wanderer who has had to patch things up along the way.
Lastly, we have the Dwarf Pirate.
This jolly fellow was sculpted by Stavros Zouliatis and shows off a fellow having a nice drink in the dockside tavern. I'm sure that he isn't going to cause any trouble at all. Not a single punch will be thrown...

They are fabulous looking figures.
Those are very nice.
That first mini doesn’t really say ‘paladin’ to me; if anything it’s the second one who looks like a paladin to me. The first one looks more like a rogue, sort of like a stereotypical gypsy dancer, not to mention that the bare midriff can be justified for a dancer/rogue but would be suicde for a paladin. :/
Sculpting wise, they all look well sculpted though.
We appreciate your feedback about the Paladin, and fully understand where you are coming from. Originally, her character was difficult to place do to the personal backstory, during the campaign we wanted to provide backers with the ability to make these characters into their own hero’s with stories that were not limited by us. If she better fits your idea for a dancer or a rogue, than we hope that you would use her in that way.
In addition, we will consider your feedback for future Paladin models to try and provide a better feel to the role 🙂
Nice sculpts! I especially like the proportions on the dwarf. I wish more companies would lean that way.
Love them! Wish I’d known about the Kickstarter!
I especially love the Paladin. I like seeing concepts being done differently. For me, I don’t see heavy armour as being an essential thing for a paladin. Although of course, for the setting, she might actually be heavily armoured compared to most people (or most elves at least).
If the setting of your game is one that sees everyone wearing light or no armour due to the climate, terrain, etc. then she could certainly still be considered ‘heavy’.
