Atlantis Preview Dwarven Female For Upcoming Kickstarter
January 21, 2017 by brennon
Contrary to what Gimli believes in Lord of the Rings it appears as if Dwarven women do indeed exist. Atlantis Miniatures has put together this preview showing off one of the sculpt styles for their upcoming Dwarf Kickstarter.
As you can see she is a decidedly gruff and tough looking lady who I would gladly have by my side in a fight. I love the expression on her face which basically gives off an air of no-nonsense 'getting down to business. It will be awesome to see how she and more models come to life with weapons in their hands.
Another male Dwarf was added to the range too with a sullen look on his face.
Maybe these two would make for a good pair as they adventured out in search of glory in the mountains?
What do you think?

I like how these are looking and look forward to seeing them posed.
Those two are looking really good.
A bit of knuckle dragging going. Dwarfs shouldn’t just be humans with sawed off legs. The rest I like.
Agreed, I like the style of dress and the sculpt would be great apart from the obvious disproportionate limbs.
Initially I agreed with both of you … Then I had the thought … Dwarfs aren’t humans why should they have the same proportions and in an evolutionary sense if thou are smaller than other races why would you want to give away reach?? Just playing Devil’s advocate. I still prefer the Magglet dwarf style dwarf female (that will hopefully be getting up the second kickstarter)
nice figures.
Nice detail and looking at them we know who really does all the work in the dwarf kingdom. With the “guns” she’s packing (plus the knives), she could bench press the male and toss him across the room. Plus, with those bracers, he might have some difficulty bending his arms fully.
Now, if they weren’t so statically posed…
Nice detailing but can’t see much use for these two unless using them as owners of an inn
To use in an army I’d want them all to have weapons
That is a seriously bad-ass lady dwarf and perfect for my wife’s RPG character. Those legs just seem about 20% too short 🙁
Posing aside ( neither for nor against ), these are looking good to me. I like that they’ve given them non-human ‘dwarven’ proportions and physique.
Sorry but everyone knows female Dwarves have beards just like the males….;-)
