Pre-Orders Ending Soon For War Banner’s Mortal Gods
February 25, 2019 by brennon
War Banner and Footsore Miniatures are closing in on the release of Mortal Gods. The Core Set and additional pre-orders are closing soon so if you'd like to get your hands on these come release day you'll want to get stuck in.
The core set for the game comes with enough miniatures to make either one large warband OR two smaller ones for two players to get stuck into the game together. The plastic miniatures are courtesy of Victrix so you know they've got plenty of detail to them.
You can see the contents of the box below...
The set looks great for those delving into some Greek battles on the tabletop. Here is a closer look at the miniatures from the set.
Whilst they don't actually have any Fantasy elements in the game right now, would it be so bad to pick up some of those old Wargames Factory Skeletons and use them in this game?
Are you going to be picking this up?

That seems like it could be good system.
I am so looking forward to the release of this game and i hope to see it developed further to cover other periods.
Could be fun running some of the Jason an the Argonauts adventures.
Really looking forward to this – Test of Honour is already a nifty little game, but having followed the development of Mortal Gods I’m really excited. Tons of new features and special rules, the art direction on the cards looks ace and they are already pretty open about fantasy expansions (Jason & the Argonauts et al) but Persians, cavalry, maybe even Macedonians and Romans. Cannot wait to get stuck in! Just need to raid the local pet shops for aquarium ruins haha
@brennon I wonder if one of these days you are going to see an historical game that doesn’t give you the urge to start adding fantasy elements?!
To be fair, Studio Tomohawk have decided you were right, maybe War Banner will too…
Nope…always need to add a dash of Fantasy in there somewhere in my opinion 😉
I’m really loving the look or this game,I managed to pick up some of their pre release resin minis and they’re amazing. Definitely one I’m getting stuck into!!
I have always liked the era of the Hoplites. If they are going to introduce a fantasy element then the mythology of the Iliad would be very cool.
I’ve ordered the core set and the Spartan set.
I have played a number of games during the development phase and it’s been getting better and better, so much so that the last game played we players when asked for comments on things we didn’t like and/or improvements we couldn’t think of anything.
I can’t wait for the real thing to hit the doormat!
