Inspired by the Grimdark palette and Blanchitsu style of the masterful John Blanche, The Army Painter is now taking pre-orders for two sets of Masterclass paints that will get you painting miniatures to match Blanche's signature artwork.

Masterclass John Blanche Volume 1 - The Army Painter

Masterclass: John Blanche Volume 1 // The Army Painter

Each of the Masterclass Series sets comes with ten paints mixing together both SpeedPaint and also newly formulated Warpaints Fanatic paints. Two of the paints are inspired by the Zorn Palette and four of them in each set then expand out on the Triad System that The Army Painter uses. There are also Washes, Metallics and an Effect paint provided depending on which set you choose which helps complete the Blanchitsu look.

Each set also comes with a brush as well as an art print and a painting guide which has been designed to help you with using the John Blanche paints. All of the paints have been designed with Blanche in mind and he has endorsed the range. So, if you're looking to paint up your Inq28, Necromunda, Mordheim or Oldhammer collection in the style of his artwork then you'll be in luck!

Masterclass John Blanche Volume 2 - The Army Painter

Each of the sets comes with paints which feature The Army Painter's signature mixing balls, dropper tops and twister caps to keep the paint fresh. You will also note each bottle has a practical breakdown of its colour so that you can make sensible choices when it comes to painting.

As fans of The Army Painter and Grimdark in general, this seems like a rather awesome selection of paints to pick up and get stuck into. The Grim Rust paint in the second set sounds fascinating and it would be good to try it out. Pre-orders are available now ahead of a February release.

Could you be tempted by these paints to work with on your own miniatures?
