Pre-Order GCT Studios’ Awesome New Bushido Releases
May 1, 2024 by brennon
GCT Studios has put together another awesome suite of new releases for their 35mm Fantasy game, Bushido. Plenty of factions are getting new characters for you to add into the mix.
Wolf Ryoshi // Bushido
Leading the way, we have the Wolf Ryoshi who are a band of Shiho miniatures for you to throw into your games. These hunters come armed with deadly bows, putting their skills to good use as they pick off enemies at range. They can combine their shooting attack in-game and shoot twice without the enemy getting to react in between those two shots. This means that they can properly pin down an enemy.
Switching up ranged attacks for some up close and personal killing, we have the Shadow Wind Clans Spectre.
Spectre // Bushido
Spectre joins his brother, Phantom, in your battles and can work in tandem with him. When Phantom succeeds in a melee attack, you can then have Spectre deal some damage at the same time. They can also work together to take down the same target. I like how you have some similarities here to the Wolf Ryoshi above but with a sneaky backstabbing side to it.
This is an awesome miniature showcasing this deadly warrior running across the top of a roof or sneaking through back alleys. I can't wait to see the painted version of this miniature.
The Descension also has access to a new Haitake Guard who can watch over the rest of your winged brothers and sisters.
Haitake Guard // Bushido
This is an alternative sculpt for the existing Haitake Guard and you'll need to have the original set in order to use this particular miniature. You get another burly-looking winged warrior. I think you could do some fun stuff when it comes to painting this fellow with some rather dark-looking armour and then brighter feathers to contrast.
The Silvermoon Syndicate can add an edge of (extra) ruthlessness into the mix with Akuto.
Akuto // Bushido
Akuto is a dedicated combat miniature that evokes the feel of a street fighter. His rather different style of fighting means that he should be able to better a fair few foes in a straight-up clash although it's always better to do a bit of "prison fighting" as his rules suggest. I also think the miniature is great and showcases the cocky nature of his character.
The Savage Wave introduces a proper bruiser. Taburo The Unbreakable is a mass of muscle!
Taburo The Unbreakable // Bushido
With a massive twelve wound boxes and enough rules to shrug off anything that might come his way, Taburo is a seriously brutal fighter who can avoid getting shot down before they can embrace their Oni-based rage. He does have to keep using his Ki to power his Oni Rage, battering his way through enemies over and over again. You can also use Taburo to move miniatures so that it is more beneficial to you.
He is a proper hulking mass that once again would be brilliant to get painted up. The Savage Wave is one of those factions that has some brilliant miniatures in it for those who like their Fantasy elements of Asian folklore.
Last but not least, we have some more miniatures for the Cult Of Yurei. See what you make of the shambling Animated Militia.
Animated Militia // Bushido
This set expands the options when it comes to adding skeletons to your Cult warband. You can use these for your abilities that raise up the dead and will help when you're looking to flood the board with bodies. A fantastic mix of sculpts which would be fun to paint once you work on all of that magical ether flowing through their bones.
Are you going to be picking up these new Bushido miniatures?

More awesome sculpts at a scale I prefer not to play. Ugh, I think I understand those gamers who settle into the 15/25mm ranges.
Bushido is 35mm. It even says so in the article. It’s a skirmish game. If you play a Bakemono Horde you might be able to field 10 models.
