By The Power of Greyskull! Sideshow Masters Of The Universe Coming Soon
July 1, 2015 by brennon
Sideshow Collectibles will be producing a new range of large scale models for the Masters Of The Universe. As you can see below they have somewhat updated the look of characters like He-Man himself and I can't wait to see how Skeletor and the rest turn out.
The show might be a little bit old and rough around the edges but it was certainly fun watching of a Saturday morning. If this has scratched your itch for something Masters of the Universe then you'll be pleased to know that Sideshow already do some busts including the ones for Skeletor and She-Ra below.
I imagine some of the models might just be additions to these busts using their design to make full on models. Either way it's quite fun to see these kind of old school memories coming back to the mantelpieces of collectors now.
Is this a collection you'd pick up?

She-Ra should be the one with nipples, not Skeletor
Those look really good as well as bring some memories from my childhood.
I shall keep quiet so as not to reveal exactly how embarrassingly much I know about MotU…
I spotted these were on Netflix a few months back and out curiosity I watched a couple of episodes of He-Man.
As a kid I always thought the series was ropey as hell. ( Still loved it though. ) And watching it again makes me realise it’s even worse than I remembered. lol
I think they must have only animated about 10 sequences per character and just dropped them onto different backgrounds to make up the stories. lol
Is it me or does He-Man looks like Dolph Lundgren?
Of course he does. That’s who played him in the movie.
i’ll take your word never seen it.
Apparenlty the concepts for these designs are by “The Croatian Sensation” Stepjan Sejic, an artist I’ve become a bit of a fan of in the last few years. He mainly works for Image thru their Top Cow imprint, but does a fair amount of cover work as well. For example he’s been doing covers for DC’s current He-Man titles. Personally though I hope he is able to return to his fantasy world of Ravine: http://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/?section=&global=1&q=ravine That’s just cool man 😉 (I do reccomend checking out his Deviant Art page where he posts under the name Nebezial. Lots of sneak peeks… Read more »
I’d love to see these. Guessing they’ll be 54mm scale?
Grenadier (I think) made some pewter minis back in the 80s. I have been able to find a few of them. They’re pretty stumpy compared to figures from now (closer to 25mm), but they do paint up fairly nicely.
