Play The Eastern Front In The Great War From Too Fat Lardies
September 28, 2014 by stvitusdancern
Too Fat Lardies has released their latest supplement, From Empire to Revolution, for their game covering WWI, Through the Mud and Blood.
This new supplement covers the Eastern front specifically the Russians and the Austro-Hungarian Armies from the years 1914 through 1917 up till the Russian Revolution, which saw Russian out of the war to handle it's own problems at home.
There are 16 scenarios included in this book along with force organizations and tactics used during this time period. With this being the 100th anniversary of the start of WWI, now is a great time to get into gaming this time period.
Can you hold the lines and prepare for battle on this front?

Lard Island come out with dam interesting little topics. I’ve never been disappointed with these supplements, even if you don’t play the game it’s a good read. I think a quick download is in order for that. Thanks for letting me know
Interesting. WW1 is not really common subject in wargaming. It might be because of lot of that war was trench warfare with time to time lot of lives costing charges over small part between trenches of both sides (thanks to old fashioned generals in charge) that ended up neither side gaining any land.
With the scale Mud and the Blood is aimed at there are plenty of interesting small scale actions to represent that took place in 191t5 and 1916 in all the various theatres
I think the generals of WW1 were a lot of things but certainly not lazy.
The rate at which tactics changed, the constant pressure to come up with a final breakthrough, logistical problems, political problems and the rest of it, a changing society etc etc made for “interesting times”.
