Plastic Soldier Company’s 15mm A9 Tank On The Workbench
June 6, 2015 by brennon
Plastic Soldier Company have put together a little preview of their 15mm scale A9 Tank that becomes the A9, A9cs, A10mkII, A10mkIIcs, A10mkII- A kit boxes...
I won't pretend to understand any of the gibberish that I mentioned above but I'm sure there will be a lot of tank buffs who know exactly what all of that means. It's certainly a good looking tank armed to the teeth with guns on the front as well as the turret.
What do you think of it?

The A9 was the lighter, earlier, variant of the A10 series of Cruiser tanks, primarily for infantry support when they broke through enemy lines. Not certain they were all that successful a design but they look cool. 🙂
What pleases me most about this kit is not that it looks great, but that it indicates a willingness by PSC (and possibly others) to expand into the less popular theatres and periods of the war. A lot of the iconic tanks, and a lot of the more powerful and recognisable army lists are from the mid-late war period, making it easier to get into as a gamer. I’m more interested in the early war period where designs were a lot more eclectic and there were more distinct factions involved. But the period has tended to have much less official… Read more »
One of the reasons for PSC working on this tank set is that Ironfist are going to the Western Desert with their new campaign in 2016. These vehicles can double for Blitzkreig era 1940 as well as 1941-42 in the Middle-east.
I don’t know who / what Ironfist is, but glad (and unsurprised) to know that this release is part of a plan!
Ironfist Publishing – the Battlegroup rules as in Battlegroup Kursk, Fall of the Reich, Overlord, Barbarossa (you have no idea how often I have had to correct people who called it Barbosa and even Barbarella…:( ).

They work closely with Plastic Soldier Company.
Loving that. Don’t want to get greedy but it’d be great for PSC to keep going down this early war road. Already got their 38(t) box and anything to get more Blitzkreig period armour is great.
Thing is. If this is linked with the Battlegroup rules shouldn’t they be more in 20mm? I know PSC tend to release the same thing in 15 and 20 but just wondering..
Like so many historical tank designs used in miniature wargames, these A9s were terrible on the actual battlefield but awesome-looking miniatures on the table. A few specifics: Riveted design: Look really great in a miniature, they pick up dry brushing great and add an awesome “heavy metal” detail. But in actual combat this is deadly for the crew. When struck with a shell, even if it doesn’t penetrate, the rivets break off and zip around the inside of the turret like bullets to injure/kill the the crew. The small side turret: Again, details like this make for an awesome miniature.… Read more »
