Plastic Northern Army Gets Painted Up For Heavy Gear
June 22, 2016 by brennon
Dream Pod 9 have shown off another update from their Kickstarter campaign as Philippe F. LeClerc painted up the Northern Army from Heavy Gear, now in plastic, and they are looking great.
The Heavy Gear range is looking particularly good these days and I think that the move towards plastics might mean that we see a lot of people picking this up.
Here's a breakdown of exactly what they've been tinkering with.
Additionally they also noted that production is going to be beginning soon this month and the plastic kits are tantalising close to getting down onto your tabletop.
Did you back their recent Kickstarter project?

I can’t wait for these to hit retail. I’ve been a HG fan since the first battletech style box game with cardboard standup gears and paper hex maps. I never quite got into the metal ranges though. Now with plastics I’ll be buying at least two of each army. I haven’t looked too much into the new edition of the rules. I’ll probably be using Gruntz and or that new osprey game that came out earlier this year.
Those are very nice.
Can’t wait to get mine!
nice.
Eeeeee! They are almost here! Man I can’t wait for my Kickstarter pledge to arrive. So many minis, of course I need to sit down and figure out how I’m going to equip my new armies.
I really hope they get some plastics for the NuCoal faction. I’ve quickly become very taken with those minis and fluff.
DP9 if I remember correctly, mentioned once they have completed delivery of pledges for this Kickstarter, they would be looking at doing another one to do plastics of the other factions and miniatures, NuCoal, Peace River, Utopian, Eden, and Black Talons. If I remember correctly, so don’t take this as definitive. I hope they do do another one, I was bummed that they had to drop the Sidewinder and Tiger models due to currency flux and that we didn’t unlock the Naga and Mammoth striders (Mammoth especially) but there is always a chance next time.
DP9 just posted pics of the plastic painted Caprice models!
