Plastic Mounted Gunfighters Coming Soon For Dead Man’s Hand
October 28, 2024 by brennon
Great Escape Games will be expanding their collection of 28mm plastic miniatures for Dead Man's Hand. A Kickstarter is coming soon for their hard plastic Mounted Gunfighters who will join their existing plastic range.

This is just a tease but if you're eager to get your hands on these for Dead Man's Hand and beyond, you can check out the Kickstarter HERE. If you click the notify me button then you'll know when the campaign launches properly.
Update! Mounted Gunfighters Sprues
As another update on the Mounted Gunfighters, we got a look at the awesome plastic sprues from the folks at Great Escape Games.

Horse Sprue // Great Escape Games
As you can see, you get loads of great miniatures as part of this set. You get some good horse bodies in different poses and then all of the various weapons and equipment you need on the Gunfighter sprue itself. I like that you also get some camping and travelling gear for when you're headed out on a proper bounty hunt across the country.
Update! Plastic Miniature Previews
We've now got some great images of the actual plastic miniatures coming as part of this set.
Mounted Gunfighter - Miniature // Great Escape Games
The miniatures work really well alongside the existing Gunfighters on foot and you can see the same head and body designs carried through into this set. This means that you can properly line up these mounted figures alongside what you've built already and give yourself some great mounted versions of these characters.

You've got the same array of different weapons on offer here as well from shotguns and revolvers through to rifles. There is also that fellow with a lasso at the ready to net some bandits or rustle some cattle.
Considering how well the plastic Gunfighters went down during the first Kickstarter (and beyond), I think these are going to be great. As someone who has enough Gunfighters already on foot, it would be great to have the mounted versions to use alongside them in games.
Will you be snapping these up?

They keep making these great kits, I keep buying them! Yee-haw!
Yep, I am all in – will deffo get at least one set
Backed my FIRST EVER KS. Early bird all the minis. 👨🏻🌾
Very useful box set
They are great kits and I will be buying/pledging a couple of boxes.
I’d wish they make some Mexicans and Indian sets.
Impressed by the quality of the kits being produced by GEG. I hope they go down the same route as WGA with general accoutrements. Something like a “scatter terrain” sprue with all kinds of gear from saddles to oil lamps, coils of rope, signposts, camp fires etc to really flesh out the table top
there were a few scatter terrain items as part of the plastic houses I think, but more is always good.
Especially the tiny stuff.
I am waiting until December to order Dead Man’s Hand Redux, so I suspect I will definitely be getting some of these as well. At the moment I am just easing myself in by buying some of the Knuckleduster Miniatures. But come 2025 I think I will going out West in a big way!
Came to comment, and I already had – weird deja-vu moment!?!!?!?111one!

If I back it (I might!) it will be my first ever KS!
Also, I did you a HUGE favour, @greatescapegames , and hit the “Report this Kickstarter” button- reported for being AWESOME! Yee-haw!
Another great set and I’m sure one that’s going to be very popular!
The riders are really nice. Is there an option for one shooting a rifle / carbine / shotgun with two hands?
Sad about the horses, though. It’d be great if they could re-do them.
What’s wrong with the horses? They look fine.
Donkeys! They should totally do donkeys.
Also, you could probably chop up some arms to make the two handed shooting pose you want. That’s the advantage of plastic, although totally doable in metal, with more work.
You seriously don’t see any issues with the horses? I don’t want to spoil this for anyone. I honestly would love these to be amazing. Alas, I can’t unsee these issues. And I’m not only saying this as someone who is handling horses several times a week. So, if you’re prepared, this is what I noted: The heads don’t really look like those of horses. The front legs connect weirdly to the chest (instead of to the side of the torso) and there is an odd bulge around. The hind legs are strangely shaped. There are somewhat random depressions on… Read more »
Huh. Once when I went to Bulgaria, I got to eat horsemeat sausage. It was quite good.
So maybe other horses? If you could pick your favourite horses, who makes them?
@darnast what if they made moose?
Mares?
