Persian Immortals Take Shape For Footsore’s Mortal Gods
November 13, 2019 by brennon
Footsore Miniatures & Games are going to be adding to their Persian collection for Mortal Gods soon as the sculpts for the Perian Immortals have been taking shape this month.
It looks like we're getting a nice mix of different warriors to suit your Persian Immortal force armed with axes, spears, bows and I'm sure a few more elements too. The Immortals were named so because of their role as elite heavily-armed infantry. The moniker then came into use because as soon as one of their members was cut down they could be replaced immediately giving the impression of an undying and relentless enemy.
Their ranks were constantly kept at the level of 10,000 men so you've got a lot of collecting you need to do if you want to make a historically accurate reserve of these soldiers to use in battle. I'm sure they will be just as elite in combat as their name suggests and they look a lot better than the Immortals portrayed in 300.
What do you make of these new sculpts?

Great new figures.
I’m increasingly keen on getting some Persians together. These will definitely be on the shortlist.
I’d be delighted if someone did the ‘Immortals’ from the Zack Snyder 300 film in 28mm. I have no problems with swapping historical minis into a fantasy setting and vice-versa and the film version of the graphic novel is definitely fantastic.
