The Perry’s New Napoleonic Cavalry & Triple Alliance Cannons
April 27, 2021 by brennon
Perry Miniatures have a few options for those diving into Historical wargames set during the Napoleonic era and the War Of The Triple Alliance. We start with the Napoleonic War in Europe and some Line Infantry Colonels.
French Line Infantry Colonels // Perry Miniatures
This set of mounted leaders are designed to work during the period of 1807-14. If you're looking for some more leaders to use as part of your French army then you now have some stylish looking individuals. I like the fellow in the middle with his hat askew calling his troops forward into the fighting.
Napoleonic Austrian Hussars 1805-15
As well as the Line Infantry Colonels we also have a new plastic set for you to get stuck into. Check out these Napoleonic Austrian Hussars.
Napoleonic Austrian Hussars // Perry Miniatures
The set comes with enough to make fourteen of these cavalry options for your Austrian force. They have also been designed, as you'll have noted, to work throughout the period of 1805-15.
Hussars Of Regiment No.2 // Perry Miniatures
As with all of the Perry Miniatures plastic kits, the Hussars here come with all manner of options on the sprue. They can be used to give them plenty of gear and change things up to suit particular regiments. Your choice of paint for the uniform will also help in that regard!
Hussars Of Regiment No.5 // Perry Miniatures
These Austrian Hussars were the most colourful troops in the Austrian army and were drawn from all over the empire. As very universal troops, they were used for all manner of different duties. Sometimes you would find them scouting and skirmishing but they also played a role in the full-on battlefield charges too.
These miniatures can be assembled in full or campaign dress and at full charge with swords shouldered or attacking.
Paraguayan Artillery - War Of The Triple Alliance
As well as the cavalry for the Napoleonic era, we also have some new cannons for the armies of Paraguay during the War Of The Triple Alliance.
Paraguayan Artillery Laying Piece // Perry Miniatures
Paraguayan Artillery Loading Piece // Perry Miniatures
These metal crews have been paired with some plastic cannon sprues. You have the option for either the Laying or Loading cannon which makes a superb little diorama at the back of your army.
This is a nice option for those playing as Paraguay and it's fun that the War Of The Triple Alliance range is getting so much attention from the Perrys.
Are you going to be picking up these new metal and plastic sets?

Gawds. Droolsome cavalry. The artillery is fascinating – the whole Triple Alliance range is. I wonder how many of these they expect to sell. It’s a period I’d love to learn more about (beyond a handful of dudes on YouTube talking about Latin American history) but it would take quite a lot for me to drop money and time on a hobby project. Is it just a labour of love?
The Austrian Hussars have been out for quite a while and are a fantastic kit for what I’ve seen people do with them.
Fantstic sculpts on the new French Colonels, I’ll be picking up a pack of those.
The Tripple Aliance range is fascinating, and something I’ve been keeping my eye on.
Wow they look fabulous, Hassar the Prussian are coming.
Those Hussars had escaped my attention until today and they are very nice indeed. I love napoleonic Calvary anyway but Hussars have that added flamboyance while the Austrians make the term flamboyant impeccable. I also very much like the french line officer with shako, it reminds me of the officer emerging from the woods to attack Hougoumont in the 1970 Waterloo movie but that’s me geeking out.
Perry Brothers: is there anything they can’t do?
