The Perry’s Franco-Prussian War French Line Up For Battle

Perry Miniatures has been showing off some of the new plastic sets landing for the Franco-Prussian War. The French Infantry are going to be coming very soon with a new plastic set in 28mm for the period.

The set has been designed to match the Prussians in that it comes with Advancing and Marching options in one set and Skirmish/Firing options in the second. There will also be a nice little mix between the two sets allowing you to do some fun things with your new toys.

As well as the miniatures we're seeing here, which are in typical fashion very detailed, there is also going to be a Command Frame coming down the pipeline. This will give you some leaders for your units when the hit the tabletop.

I like that these French sprues also come with a bunch of options that can be used to customise your miniatures. For example, the bowls and canteens are a neat touch and would have been carried by a few of the men in the regiment as they moved from place to place.

There are of course some other fun options like the poor fellow who has taken a bullet! The addition of a casualty is great for those who want to make dioramas and such but also could be fun for anyone making multi-based troops and wanting to turn things into more of a scene.

It's another good set of miniatures from the Perry Twins and I'm sure plenty of folks will be exploring a new period of warfare with these plastics.
