Perry Miniatures’ Men At Arms Armour Up For Agincourt
November 25, 2014 by brennon
Perry Miniatures have shown off some more of the sprues that we're going to be getting soon for the English Men At Arms that will be taking on the French at Agincourt and beyond. See what you think...
As well as the melee weapons you're also going to get some archer sprues to give you the additional fire power to take down those heavily armoured knights. Then these folks can wade in and pluck the flower of French royalty from the field. The actual designs we're seeing here are awesome and I love how every single one of them looks like an individual.
If you're more on the side of the French then you'll be glad to know that Perry Miniatures are indeed working on them as well. While the basic infantry will be more or less the same with a different colour for their regalia there could be some more units on the way including knights!
Will you be getting these?
I’ll buy at least two boxes… to balance the two piles of Perry medieval figures on my desk that are still in boxes from the last time they added to this period. Don’t need ’em. Want ’em.
I’ve just picked up a box of Perry’s WOTR troops and they’re fantastic. Those look every bit as splendid.
aw mah gawd not more Perry miniatures im going to have to buy 🙁
It’s a hard life 😉
Im being really strict on myself so I can go on a splurge at Salute 😀
Just had a look on the site. These men at arms are different again from the foot knights. You get 12 men-at-arms and 24 archers. Only £20.00! Why can’t all miniatures be that affordable? Rhetorical question of course.
Historical question:
Would these work with War of the Roses in terms of historical accuracy? Not really bothered if they don’t but would be nice to know!
About 15 years difference I’m thinking. Perry’s have a bunch of WOTR box sets as well, so you can decide for yourself if they would be close enough. For me they are :-).
I think they might fit too as they are older style and could still be used by perhaps poorer knights and men-at-arms.
Thanks for the replies 🙂
With the cost of armour in those days, I am sure that older suits would have been used by families that were drawn into the conflict, at short notice, depends I suppose what part of the WOTR you want to do as it started in 1455
When looking at he Perry stuff it seems the latter WOTR rank and file figures are actually less armoured than those who fought at Agincourt. This could mean a greater portion of them were levied, or that they were wearing tabards over their plate. Also, the sallet style helmet seems more popular during the WOTR. You can always do a few head swaps to make the force more homogeneous.
Wonderful sculpts, as always!
Gorgeous mini’s! 🙂
Ooooooh I can see some proxying for my Minas Tirith army!
In a perfect world, when GW inevitably let the Middle Earth licence lapse, the Perry Brothers would pick it up!
Stop it, you’re making me all giddy lol.
On the to buy list for my Kingdom of Men for KoW-Great looking figures as always
