Perry Miniatures Call In Danish & Norwegian High Command
June 11, 2021 by brennon
Perry Miniatures are back with more Napoleonic miniatures, this time for the Danish & Norwegian forces of the period. Their High Command are now taking to the field as they try to direct the conflict and keep their troops marching through the snow.
Mounted High Command 1803-07 // Perry Miniatures
I won't pretend to know much about what we're seeing here but I do have some information on who all these folks are! For example, in the set above you've got General V. Peymann, General, V. Oxholm and General V. Castenskiold.
The next of the sets contains General V. Ewald and two of his Guides. Ewald looks like a total badass I should say with that eyepatch and scowl!

The third of the packs focuses on the Battle Of Sehestedt in 1813.

Again you've got three named personalities in this set with General Prince Frederik of Hessen, Brigadier L`Allemand and finally General Major V. Lasson.
The best of the sets, at least in my opinion, is this little vignette collection.
General Prince Christian August & Command // Perry Miniatures
It captures a great moment in time as the various soldiers wait for their order and work out what to do next. As well as General Prince Christian August, you've also got a band of Norweigian Grenadiers and a Courtier Of The Akerhuusiske.
I'm sure that some Napoleonic experts are going to love sets like these. They are display pieces as much as they are gaming ones and should look suitably nice when arrayed in your cabinet!
Are you liking these new releases?

Fabulous looking figures to command army’s.
The curse of the historical minis company is to produce ever more obscure minis as their range grows. These do look utterly splendid though.
Showing my ignorance here but were the Danes present at the battle where the Brits showed up with the crazy rocket launcher?
The British attacked Copenhagen in 1801 and they were definitely present then! 😛 It’s actually the battle where Nelson disobeyed orders by putting the telescope to his blind eye to read the admirals instructions and claimed he saw no orders. Also the first use of the 95th (Rifles) in combat as extra Marines aboard the ships. There was also a 2nd battle in 1807 where they bombarded the city. There’s a Sharpe novel set during this particular fight, I believe.
That wasn’t what I was thinking of but I love that it happened!
I love these chaps…but if only they could do some Norwegians for WW2…I have a plan that could do with some Norwegians in a uniform that isn’t British… 😛
