Alan of Perry Miniatures has been working away on a selection of new 28mm miniatures that will slot into their French Revolutionary War range soon. Some Vendeans are on the way to fight against the Revolutionaries.

These Vendeans miniatures were converted and sculpted throughout the festive break we've just had which is rather awesome. These efforts have turned into four packs of Vendeans/Chouans that you'll be able to pick up later this year.

According to the Perry Miniatures crew, there were plenty of Vendeans Royalist uprisings between 1793 and 1832 but these represent those from that initial 1793 period. This was apparently the main event and a desperately bloody one.

The miniatures come in their Breton attire and carry a mixture of muskets and glaives which have been made using scythe blades. You could also paint these in different ways and make use of them in numerous conflicts and periods.

It's great to see that this French Revolutionary War collection is starting to build up with lots of different troops from both sides for you to choose from. I like the ad-hoc nature of the kit that the Vendeans are using, making use of farm equipment as their weapons of choice alongside a select few firearms.
Keep an eye out for more from Perry Miniatures in 2025!

Brilliant miniatures and a brilliant period to wargame. The revolutionaries murdered their king, they made their religion illegal and then, the final straw, they came to conscript their children for their endless wars. The Catholic and Royal Army of the Vendee was born. Lead by a merchant and the local nobility who were extremely beloved because the Vendee is so poor they couldn’t afford to go live in Versailles so they lived in the Vendee with their people. I made a video about them on my YouTube Channel if anyone is interested.
