Perchang has been working on a new Warhammer Quest game! The team had previously designed Warhammer Quest and Warhammer Quest II: The End Times which were simple but rather neat dungeon crawlers in the style of the old board games by Games Workshop. Now, they are heading to The Silver Tower.

The game will feature the iconic characters from the board game as well as plenty of the villains and nefarious boss characters which popped up in The Silver Tower when it first came out. According to some of the folks behind the game, it will follow some of the cues from the board game whilst also introducing more video game elements to make it transition over nicely to mobile devices.

We have seen some rather neat screenshots of the game already which give you a glimpse of the different enemies and heroes facing off against each other. The images we're seeing are all in-engine which is fun as it shows they have come quite far already. It will be fun to see how much more polished the game looks when it eventually released.

Despite what some people say about Silver Tower, I actually quite enjoyed it. Games Workshop clearly learned their lessons from the game's development and added/changed elements as they went into Shadows Over Hammerhal and later Blackstone Fortress but as it stands, Silver Tower is still a game I'm proud to have in the collection.

I liked the way they handled a lot of the combat and exploration mechanics and you did have to do a lot of thinking when it came to encounters. Yes, there were a few quirky bits here and there with the rules but one would assume that kind of thing will be ironed out in the mobile game.

The game will feature turn-based action which is always good fun and should hopefully give us an interesting window into the weird and wonderful world of the Mortal Realms. I actually have Perchang's Warhammer Quest on Steam and I did enjoy delving into it a few times. I might end up going back to it actually and giving it another go ahead of the release of Silver Tower.

As it stands, the game is going to be coming out on Android and iOS devices with ten unique characters, expanding on the core cast from the original board game. I am looking forward to giving this a go!
