Para Bellum Introduce Two New Characters To Conquest
July 13, 2019 by brennon
Things have now been fired up for Conquest over at Para Bellum Wargames. You can now get stuck into the game either as The Hundred Kingdoms or The Spires. As well as lots of core troops a bunch of characters are also popping up.

The first of these that we got a look at over on social media was the Imperial Officer. This fellow looks like a gruff and grizzled leader who has been in the field for a long time. I think that the flash of beard around the solid jaw helps give him a very commanding feel. I like that the armour is a little more ornate but still feels functional.
It would have been cool to see him in a battlefield pose though, running towards the enemy with his men, but maybe this fellow takes a backseat role.
Off With His Head!
The coolest of the two miniatures previewed however is for The Spires with the High Clone Executor.
This brutal warrior, who I think looks better when helmeted, is ready to get stuck in and cut off people's heads when needed. I think they have done a good job keeping the figure in line with the artwork and carrying it over onto the tabletop. It will be fascinating to see more of the work that goes into painting up the chitin-like armour and the contrasting colours people use for robes and the like.
Which of the factions has caught your eye?

I am still tempted at picking up the starter box as the tiny fighting men look quite nice and liking the little bit bigger models. These heros I’m just not sure about.
Must say the Imperial Officer has a bit of a Jorah Mormont look about him!
I definitely see both leading their armies into battle.
Two fantastic figures to command your army’s.
Those look really good.
While I like both of the sculpts on these I like the officer more. Executor looks good, but its not what I imagine a spire unit to look. The masked version is much better, in my opinion. Again, they are both good, just not my personal vision. He just seems a bit too human.
They are lovely sculpts. Sort of leaning into the whole Rank and Flank concept lately though
High Clone Executor’s ”bone hat” reminds me of Centauri from Babylon 5.
