Painted Tengu Herald The Descension For GCT’s Bushido
June 21, 2015 by brennon
Some fantastic Tengu are coming to life for GCT Studios' Bushido and game designer Toby Nathan has shown off two of the final painted models for the range which are looking astounding...
The painting is fantastic as always. Alas we don't have the name of the painter but if it is Toby himself then he's done a great job on the models!
"...the Tengu Descension will be our seventh faction and the Shadow Wind clan the Kage Kaze Zoku will be number eight"
It looks like fans of this Far Eastern skirmish game are going to have a lot to look forward to. The company is steadily and reliably continuing its support which is fantastic to see.
Do you play Bushido?

The player base for Bushido TT is about to explode with the imminent delivery of Rise of the Kage KS board game; apparantly a significant number of backers went for the TT add-ons. BoW should give this game the attention it deserves, a RotK/Bushido week would be awesome, especially for those coming on board who would like to see how the New Dawn (TT2.0) rules play in BoW’s quality style. Why Lloyd isn’t all over this I don’t know – as well as the Japanese theme the opportunity for hobby labs is obvious – Japanese buildings and rice fields… now… Read more »
Those look really good.
love the Tengu holding the scroll 🙂
I like them very unique.
Awesome models and gameplay, you guy’s should give it a try.
pretty dam cool guys
Love this game, though I really hope they expand into the West to allow for some European fantasy esc action as well as the Orient.
If memory serves Dark Iron Studios paint most – If not all – of GCT’s models. I also agree BOW should do a dedicated feature on this amazing game!
I agree. A Bushido Week ftw. 😀
Yeah this game is just amazing looking, an while in the past I’ve been able to resist, the temptation of Tengu is just too strong. It is time to hurt my wallet again.
If they are at GenCon, I’ll have to set some fundage aside to buy in
You can get a starter for about $45 so not a huge investment. And I believe yes, the will be at Gen Con. At least they were planning on it the last time I checked.
If the Tengu are available, I will be buying.
I asked Sam on several occasions to ask the team if they were interested in doing a Bushido week or something. I second all the motions here that a themed week would be great. With the 7th faction about to see release in August and the 8th all ninja faction announced, I believe that now is the perfect time to get behind these guys and help push them up there the way the first Infinity week did for CB. Whenever I talk to the Infinity guys they always credit BoW with the explosion of interest in their game. Bushido is… Read more »
Very cool.
Reminds me alot of Samurai Pizza Cats, I always thought those crow villains look great.
And not only are the models lovely, the game is pretty sweet, too. Very small scale, around 7 models a side or so, on a 2 by 2 surface. Has some interesting mechanics that i hadn’t seen elsewhere (not gonna say they’re unique, I’m no encyclopedia) and a lovely background, with a huge amount of room to grow and a bit of everything to suit everyone’s tastes. From other pictures that have been posted, it looks like the Tengu faction will be able to line up a human barbarian force, and that is ALWAYS a good thing. :p
